Re: Why do people hold on to the safety bar often?

I understand that in order to pass the more difficult songs, you pretty much are forced to use the bar. Sure, there are individuals who are amazing enough that they can pass 12's without the bar, but for me, using the bar just takes the fun out of the game. I've never used the bar before, except maybe once when I almost slipped and died >_< I'm not a terrible player either, I can do some 11's, and I could probably advance more using the bar, but my group of friends and I have always gone barless and that's how I like it.

I only play ITG, and I use the bar for any 10 footers or above. I can pass all 10 footers and some 11's without the bar, but I can't do 12's without the bar (excluding Delirium).

It helps with avoiding large amount of mines, but it is easier to do trills and running men without the bar. (Summer (Speedy-Mix-) and Delirium)

Ok, seeing as I am a no bar user, and I argue about bar vs no bar alot, I'm going to try to not argue like that in this thread. All I'm going to say, is that this quoted statement is NOT TRUE.

You can do anything without the bar, it just takes time and determination

well :P some songs ARE physically impossible without the bar... None of the songs on ITG/DDR but if you included custom songs and crap obviously there are just like some songs are impossible with bar. But ya like I can do everything on DDR (with atleast AA) and ITG (including 13s) no bar so if you are referring to those they are doable.

dont be an idiot. Obviously there are stepfiles (MEANT FOR FINGERS) that just can not be done. Period. Those are the only files I am talking about.

Now I'm an idiot? I say one thing thing. You disagree. Nima says the exact same thing. You agree. Hmmmm....I wonder what that makes you look like?

I never said "Some DDR/ITG songs are impossible to do without the bar". I said "Some songs are impossible to do without the bar". That may include simfiles uploaded into ITG cabinets. You assuming things and then having to take back your words isn't my fault.

Anyways, I don't insult or flame people so goodbye.

Actually I didnt take anything back, seeing and my first post was only talking about all the official ddr/itg songs, as I stated in my 2nd post.

And you are an idiot for making that post full of quotes, trying to be all witty because you think I was contradicting myself.

it basically depends on the way you play, if you started early with the bar then the bar would be more useful for you then lets say for someone who started using it in the middle of their DDR/ITG career, personally me and my freind have both beaten rebirths Shihen(i don't have a prob puttin up a vid, and its just an example) without a bar and finished with not that much drain on our stamina, if someone wanted to they could be just as good as someone who uses the bar, HOWEVER using the bar early on and getting used to it would definatly help your scores and balance you on harder songs early on which is why a vast majority(in my opinion) of players use the bar.

Ok. The bar is necessary for some things, and unnecessary for others, it's everyones own personal opinion, but DukAmok uses the bar. He FC'd Reach's Air file. The bar is good.
