    Edit: Why safe mode?
Safe mode makes it so windows only loads the neccesary(?) drivers to run your PC, this excludes start up items, video drivers networking, etc. to make sure whatever you're trying to get rid of isn't running. Wikipeda - safe mode

K then, ignore me why don't ya >=( I guarantee you that ALCMTR.EXE and that copy of svchost.exe in your start menu folder are the causes behind any malware or Trojan or whatever in your computer.

Lol. But seriously I do know a thing or two when it comes to getting rid of spyware/viruses. I've had more than enough over the 3/4 years that i've been into computers.

                  ***HIJACKING THREAD***
Sorry I don't wanna spam Chit Chat with another computer related thread (maybe we should sticky one instead?)

Anyway, I've had 2 iexplore.exe eating up my resources for a while now. When I close them in my task manager, they Immediately! open up again. I didn't open anything, this is when I first turn on my computer and I don't notice iexplore.exe is running unless I'm in my task manager. Really don't feel like registering/signing up for a online geek forum to find this out so maybe you guys could help, or... evilcowgod could at least ;D

Boot in safe mode and run a virus check.

Ok... So then you know for a fact that what I have is not a trojan? Because I think it might be, but not sure, sounds pretty appropriate for the thread subject wouldn't you think?

seriously though, I only have 512 ram so I need all the resources I can get! evilcowgod, which program should I use to do the virus check? I've already tried nortan, spybot, and ad-aware and the iexplore.exe is still there.
