ON TOPIC: I think I would donate 10 million to charity. I would invest a good 30 million in long-term CDs [think a 5% interest on a 25-year bond.. nice. Brb, calculating.. Over a billion dollars, on that 30 million.]

I would probably spend around five million within a few months, getting a nice house and computer system, good car, etc.

The rest would go into a mix of savings and starting a business.

All in the bank. Live off of interest. Excess from interest goes to family/friends/charity. I would make my next generations live good lives.

Bank is a terrible idea. It gives terrible interest. Invest it in a series of short-term CDs, at least.

several thousand to charity is not much at all, really. do you really need 99,000,000 dollars any more than you need 50,000,000? no, unless you are a greedy person who spends it all, not thinking about the wealth of future generations and wasting and using up as many resources as possible. i think people would be comfortable donating 50,000,000 dollars and still having 50,000,000; i would be extremely happy with that. i would probably donate at least 10 million to some charity, then invest with some more, and then collect interest with the rest in a bank account hopefully. 60 or 70 mill would collect enough interest a year to pay a baseball player his minimum salary (like 250k or something like that) also, you could keep some in cash, and then make sure that the interest would continue the wealth for posterity. in any case, i'm sure it'd be an extremely lucky situation that everyone dreams of.
