Mainly because in your mind you think of how to abbreviate rather than actually just saying what comes to mind.

Unfortunately, I understand how some people can type like that, specifically, some of my friends. They get so use to not hitting the backspace button to edit their mispelled words, they'd just ignore it. I use my backspace rarely, but when I notice my spelling errors, I can't help but hit my backspace key to correct it.

It isn't that hard to get use to typin lik dis; when I switched from spelling you "u" and what "wut", it wasn't easy. I also had problems remembering to capitalize I to "i".

Now what I think is hard is typing l13k 7h15 because that requires you to stretch towards number keys that you would not normally use. But I suppose that even then, you can get use to they keysetting.

I always finish typing the word and realize the mistake while typing the word, but I also know exactly how many backspaces I need without looking or counting. I is what gives me the most problems, though I am getting better with them.

The only way I can rationalize someone's ignoring of typos is if they're such horrible typists that they constantly have to be watching the keyboard and not what they type.

I remember a time when I could type really fast if I were looking at the keyboard. I didn't have to search for the keys at all; I had decently high WPM, but just giving an unfocused stare at the keyboard helped me type faster.

But looking at the screen, seeing many horribly misspelled words, and then ignoring them? I don't buy it.

Sorry dude but EVERY good websites/forums has good grammars in their rules...

That's just what you consider "good."

Gaia is more popular than FFR will ever be and it has no rules about grammar.

People who use shorthand inconsistantly and unnecessarily are idiots.

It's like saying, "Hey, I'm too lazy to spend extra time writing this out, so I'll just let you spend extra time deciphering it."

Less-than-perfect grammar, I don't mind at all. But some people take laziness to an insane extreme.
