My Step Mania Index Finger Accomplishments

Well, IMO V is difficult because it requires more agility then the easy stuff like Quasar and Max 300. The step-jump combinations make it as or almost as difficult to PA/MA as bbblow or Air.

I just got 4 greats on So Deep 0.5x arrows, 3rd try (1st try = 9 greats) what's the best you can do on that? (Edit: Yes I know I'm talking to Nima, the god of Step Mania. :P)

My best on so deep 0.5? Not sure... I can sdp 1x... 0.5 probably a AAA with pretty good PA but imo it shouldn't count unless you use shuffle.

I dunno if its just me or not... but that Air score doesn't really make much sense to me compared to the others. I understand you're much better when it comes to MAing easier songs, but even the for that the MA/PA seem a lot higher than I would expect. I know there's jumps and all, but there are still quite a few streams that you'd probably be able to MA fine.

I spent quite some time on that Air....maybe 1-2 hours learning it, then about 5 tries to AA it. My line of speed is very close drawn to that song. I'm not sure about any of you guys, but it works this way for me. All 16th notes that are below 175 I can AAA, but anything above that I can usually never Full Combo, even if it is 180.

As for the harder sims, If Hall of The Mountain King qualifies, I can do that. Same with Payon. I'm still not too pro on the speed aspect, but I figure that will come around in time. I'm surprised so many people around here can hit such high speeds, when I thought I'd be one of the fastest due to my piano experience.

I'm trying to gradually push me speed a bit. Just raise my average BPM by around 5-10 every couple days I decide to play. I figure my MA is pretty much peaked out right now, as most of my AAAs are first tries. I have the potential to SDP stuff, but that's not a good representation of what I'd be able to accomplish on command.

Wow, honestly I'm a bit surprised to hear that you can't even combo at 180 bpm... don't worry though, you won't even think about it after awhile. I remember back when I could BARELY pass BMR's A (16th streams at 190-something bpm) because it was just so fast for me. But I practically feel silly about it now cause it's so so much easier, and now I can combo just as well on 16ths in the like 240-270 bpm range.

so yeah, just keep pushing yourself with stuff you can barely get through. I've found that it's those ones that will make you work harder and get faster, not the songs that you're on the border of AAA'ing. Also, for consistency sake make sure you get experience hitting jumps (reach's Blade) and jumps within streams too (as in cynic's Snow or Vanish into thin air). Basically you'll want to play a wide range of step styles as you improve, so you don't only get good at a few certain songs. Keep up the good work.

Yep, the game is easy to get AAAs and MA and stuff, just for new people speed is difficult. I hope I get the hang of it soon.

Oh, btw when I said that bpm range for myself I meant the range that I can do as well on now as I could on bmr's A back then... not the range that I can fc stuff in.

Aight, the song was sort of a tough speed for me without a cmod because my 2.5x made most of the song too slow (especially through steps spread so far apart). meanwhile, 3x was better for most of it but got too fast for me to combo as well at the end. so, the first image has really really bad MA/PA because it was slow and some of it felt kind of offbeat to me... could definitely improve this but I don't feel like playing it again yet. but yeah, here's the non-cmod shot for you.
