That video is pretty sweet. Do all the Wii games come with the system I wonder? Or in one game? They don't seem involved enough to be games on their own.
The controls are going to be totally new to everyone. Of course some games will be very easy for nongamers to get into thanks to these controls, but others will surely be very difficult to master.
As for gameplay difficulty? Is it unheard of for games to have multiple difficulty levels? No. It's not.
And in the end, not all games will even make full use of the motion sensitivity anyway.
Games are meant to be enjoyed by all. There's no 'dumbed down'. It's more like 'standardized'. People know how to use remote controls. Five major buttons on that thing that people even know the location of without looking. Channel up, down, volume up, down, and power. The Wii remote is so basic and easy to remember locations of buttons that it totally breaks down the wall that once existed between controllers and nongamers before.
You know how stupid people look when they don't know where keys are on their keyboard and have to 'hunt and peck' for them? They had to do that on controllers too. With this, they might for three minutes until they get it.
When I get this thing, I'm gonna see how many of my relatives will play it when they come over for Thanksgiving and post it here. Most of them are 50-60 years old. We'll see
