My family was talking about this, we're all sad... as far as I know... But then my bro Ben said something that truly frightened me... "You wanna know something creepy? In the Bible, it says that upon the rising of the 13th Pope, Jesus will return to Earth and the World shall End... And guess what number Pope we're on?.... THE 22nd!!"

Anyway, I'm going to pray tonight before bed... I haven't prayed in 5 years, so I feel really terrible. When someone as holy as the Pope dies, it does frighten me somewhat. I just don't like to think about it, and hope that he reaches peace after death. God bless...

Um... The bible doesn't speak of Popes, so you totally mistaken.

And I can't really say that I am happy either way; life or death. I don't believe anything about the pope. He is just another celebrity that made his name from being the head of what was once the most powerful institution on earth, with lies and deceit. Of course, I could go on about it, but I don't need to. History speaks for itself when it comes to the Catholic church.

Cenright just layed down a layer of icy-cold e-justice.

        And Irather agree with him.

Who wants to take bets on what the Pope's new assumed name will be?

          Pope nearing to death

I just dislike that Catholicism is the picture of Christianity, when they are so completely different than many groups today. Who esle has Saints? Saints that were never spoken of in the bible. Saints are what THE CATHOLIC CHURCH CREATED.

And the pope even supposedly had the power to ALTER biblical scripture.
Allow me to quote the 4th and 3rd to last scriptures in the entire bible, Revelation 22: 18 & 19:

I'm very happy for the Pope, because I do feel that he's earned it. It's sad for the rest of us that such a great man is leaving us.

I have a view on life and death that most people would call screwy. Cherish life and never let go of it, but look forward to death and what's to come, realizing that this world is insignificant compared to the next.

EDIT: Cenright, you don't need to be a Catholic to appreciate the good this Pope has done: http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...ng_communism_2

Cen, where do you get the idea that that passage talks about the Pope? It sure seems to me that it's referring to anyone who is inspired by God (such as anyone who wrote any other book of the Bible). I mean, I guess you could take it literally, suggesting that you, I, or the Pope could tear out the pages from the Bible of Jesus being born and force God to obey, but something tells me that that wasn't what that passage intended to say.

Oh, and RevenG, so long as he's got a breath of life in him he's aware and capable. He may be on his deathbed, but classifying his condition as "pretty much dead" is a gross misunderstanding.

I am not saying that the pope hasn't done anything good in his life. But I am saying that a president that cheats on his wife can also play a big role in ending communism.

But as Christ said: "My kingdom is no part of this world."
We try not to be part of politics, because it is a dying world. In armegeddon, the worldly governments will be done away with, and later God will be putting his own system on to the earth. Even the catholics say it in prayer: "Let thy kingdom come." I know that the earth will be again a paradise.

I try to stay out of man's arrangement, so that I am no part of the world that Jehovah is wiping away. That doesn't mean that I wont help my fellow man, but I don't need to go through a government to do it. We are Jehovah's Witnesses. there were missionaries of ours in Russia while it was still the USSR. Even though at that time, being a Witness there was illegal.

And about scriptural alterations... The king James bible took out all 7000+ occurrences of god's name, Jehovah. That would be considered an addition/subtraction, don't you think? That was just the anglican church, but in medieval times, the pope had alteration rights (of course self-proclaimed). That is even in the my world history book of 10th grade.

So, are you a Jehovah's wittness, or what?

Anyway, I can't believe some people are saying, 'It's about time he died.' Even if you aren't Catholic, how can you say it's about time someone died? Even if he wasn't the Pope?! That's just sick, and I think immoral. Pope John Paul II is a human being, and expecting his death with such disregard is a terrible thing.

BTW, I didn't say I read it from the Bible. I haven't even read but 1 or 2 passages, and only a few quotes. It was just my brother Ben being an idiot as usual.

It always seems that people become so much more popular when they die. Everybody's praising them for all that they have done, and I'm sure he will recieve some awards posthumously.
Showing support during tough times is much better than joining the bandwagon of mourners.

Well whatever...it is probably not a good time for this, but i wonder if catholic schools will be having no school for a certain day. For the mourning of the pope and everything. Hmmm..

Well, it was about time he passed on. He was an old man who lived a long life. He was in poor health. It's not disrespectful or immoral to think that it is time for someone to pass on.

Why demonize death? There is no escaping it. Sooner or later, everyone and everything will die. Dont act that death is something terrible.
