Steam Summer Sale 2015
Here we go again~
So this year instead of the typical community sales the gimmick is a community-wide incremental type minigame, which unlocks new game deals with certain activity levels on the game [# of clicks, # of monsters defeated, etc.]. (Only problem is that the servers are full to bursting, so unless you got a friend who already has access to the minigame, you might have a hard time getting into it.) Also, Rockstar has pulled GTA5 off the steam library, re-released it as a bundle for $85, and are "selling" it for $60. So you may want to avoid them.

Re: Steam Summer Sale 2015
Rockstar is a myth
(Honestly hate what they have been doing as a company as of late). As for the Sale it makes me wish I held off buying some of the games because they are lower than when I purchased them D:!

Re: Steam Summer Sale 2015
So that's what happened to GTA5, huh? Wonder what's the story behind that
Also, am I the only one who can't seem to play the Summer Sale Minigame? Everytime I try to start a new game for myself it'll just give me a connection error, and while I can somehow connect to a friend's game nothing happens on the screen (and trying to rejoin just gives the same connection error.)

Re: Steam Summer Sale 2015
At this point in time I have so many games that I tend to focus more on earning the unique badge. I've managed to get it each time since Summer 2011 so I don't really want to stop now.
The mini-game is decent, if only because you can join a game, level up your auto-cannons, then close it again and let it play itself. I came back this morning after sleeping and spent all the money I had earned and left it to play itself again. Fun through dissociation! And I've bought one game so far: Valkyria Chronicles. I've been meaning to get that for years and now I can finally play it. In a few months (a year...) once I've played a few other games in my backlog. Re: Steam Summer Sale 2015
Both XCOM and Valkyria Chronicles are very good strategy games if you're into that kind of stuff

Re: Steam Summer Sale 2015
Yeah, I had a game running for about 18 hours. Was around level 280. Got 2 trading cards from it. It's not working right now though. The guide says it resets each day so that might be why, give it an hour or so and it should be working again then.

Re: Steam Summer Sale 2015
Because it's just a remake and you could play the original for next to nothing?
Because it's only 25% off and would likely be cheaper in a flash/daily deal? Because you could get other games for cheaper that are better? Because why? Also, to those interested (helphelp11), the monster game has been reset and can now be played again. Last edited by TheRapingDragon; 06-12-2015 at 12:02 PM.. |

Re: Steam Summer Sale 2015
Yeah, when I saw Black Mesa, I got super excited because I thought that meant they finished Xen and all that good stuff.
Nope I then went, wow, what the fuck!? And promptly ignored it. Still cool to see it on Steam though, but I won't get it until I see it's "OUT" of Early Access and finished. |

Re: Steam Summer Sale 2015
There's a few good deals for today.
Child of Light is worth £3 (~$5). It's a solid RPG that'll last around 6-8 hours and has a fun battle system. Rogue Legacy is easily worth £1.50 (~$3). I put near 30 hours into the PC version then, when Sony gave it to me for free, I played it again and got platinum. There's also Legend of Grimrock 2. I've only played the original but it was a great dungeon crawler so I presume the second one is just as good. Or you could always get Hunie Pop...(I've actually played and beaten it and it can be fun in a completely stupid kind of way) Last edited by TheRapingDragon; 06-12-2015 at 12:20 PM.. |

Re: Steam Summer Sale 2015
Decided to grab Wings Of Vi in the flash sale because it's supposed to be a stupidly difficult platformer and I haven't played one since Eryi's Action in January.
And what a difference one day makes in that monster game. I was level 270 yesterday when it reset and I'm already at level 685 today with hours to go. Anyone else playing it? |

Re: Steam Summer Sale 2015
Picked up Metal Slug as a nostalgia buy after all those years with friends in the arcades. The price for Cities: Skylines seems steep (especially considering I bought Sim 4 last sale and then proceeded to never play it) but I love the whole world-building concept

For world building, have you tried the Tropico series? I've only played Tropico 4 but it was fun and there was tons to do. Last edited by TheRapingDragon; 06-14-2015 at 06:41 AM.. |
