I was fairly sure that hell was created by Satan who was a banished angel for opposing god in some way. Therefore megaxxx just got double fail'd

Its not necessarily that satan CREATED hell, its more like he rebelled against got because he wasnt chosen to become the savior because of his own selfish intentions. He then took everyone who was on his side and left, sitting in eternal darkness.

This is how i see the story, god created the garden of eden for adam and eve to live in. As far as the tree of knowledge goes, it would be fair to say that you could also call it the tree of mortality, in that it granted them the ability to distinguish right from wrong, die, and reproduce. God created the tree so that LATER they could eat from it WITH HIS CONSENT, but he told them not to eat from it until he said so basically. He knew they were going to eat from the tree, and if they hadnt, we would had never existed because they would not have been able to reproduce. So basically its not like eve "screwed us over", because it was meant to happen, just not at that time. Because eve had no perception of right and wrong, when satan came along and suggested that she eats from it, she didnt necessarily know it was wrong other than the fact that god told her not to, so really she didnt know the consequences of her actions yet.

Anyway, that is what i have come to believe as the most accurate, although it is late and i might have left something out.

Some things are to be taken literally. Some things are not. Which things? Well, I guess you'll have to be the judge of that for yourself.

The whole "WELL IT COULD ALL BE FICTION" debate is pretty tiresome. There are things that, even though they happened in the age of recorded history, still are unclear. For example, story goes that Beethoven's first visit to Vienna, he met and played a piece for Mozart (who was one of his idols). Mozart made a comment somewhere along the lines of "Watch out for this one, for he will do great things." However, the meeting may have never happened. We don't know. Whether it did occur or not doesn't really change the fact Beethoven was a fantastic and influential composer and therefore the course of history like, say, the validity of the Bible, but my point is simply that it is literally IMPOSSIBLE to trust anything that isn't witnessed first-hand.

Well, you could trust it, you just may be misplacing that trust. It is called faith for a reason, because even though you may not have factual knowledge (in the sight of man) of it, it is still possible and may be correct. People make up their own minds in what to place their faith in, and no amount of critisizm and debates will prove them wrong if thats what they believe, especially if there is no evidence to prove them right or wrong.

How so? There is historical evidence that crucifixion was a common method of execution in that time period. Is it really so hard to believe that Jesus was crucified as well?

Maybe satan and god both just were instead of only god in the beginning. it makes sense if this is true because y would god create satan if we wanted us to follow his rule. it also in genisus never says he created satan. unless all snakes are satan in some way maybe god is both satan and god and we need to respect both. wow my christian believe isn't showing through anymore.

He didnt try to "take over heaven" necessarily. It was more like he wanted to be the savior, but he wanted to come down here and force us all to be righteous instead of giving us the agency to sin or not. He also wanted all the glory to go to him instead of god.
To follow up on another question, satan was one of gods children who (because of the freedom of agency) chose to leave his presence because he could not have his own glory, and because he is in outer darkness and suffering he tries to get as many souls to join him as possible out of spite. Misery loves company.

The Garden of Eden is a metaphor, don't think TOO much into it.

Now, who's to say what's a metaphor? The bible is very confusing, especially look at revelations. Now, which parts in there are metaphors and which are to be taken literal? ><

Angels are an interesting subject, at least to me.

I tend to think of them as God's direct servants and often the arm of the law. The vast majority of scripture that directly talks about angels, everyone cowers in fear at the sight of them, until they speak and say "Fear not." Seriously, if any of you guys actively read the New Testament, take count of how many times this is the case. They always come down to deliver ultimatums, lay some serious smack down, or protect an innocent person from meeting an untimely end (often by eradicating evil).

I think the typical view of angels is so vastly different than what they really are that most people get rather confused about it. This whole idea of Cupid-type cherubs? I have no idea where that sprung from. Probably a pagan idea, most likely. There's nothing wrong with that, mind you. I just think that people who claim to be Christians and refer to nice, pleasant things as angels need to go actually read the Bible. They are "beautiful and terrible."
