Re: How come god created the tree of knowledge?

You know the second I post my opinion this forum will get locked.
So I really shouldn't even bother.

It's funny how anyone can voice their opinions against the validity of religion but the second a believer gets in there we gotta stop that.

EDIT: That's my hundredth post, sad eh?

W00t for non-believers! 30% of the voters in this poll are non-believers, me being one of them. And you know who else is a non-believer? Shashakiro! If you don't believe me, check out his myspace by searching his email: What the hell are you doing?

but why did he make the tree ,it was really tempting
god could have avoided the whole thing if he never created the tree
he created the tree to test us.

You honestly think God gets drunk and that his intent is to torture his creations?

Re: How come god created the tree of knowledge?

You don't have to believe this but based on the Bible's stories themselves,
the tree of Knowledge was merely a symbol of God's authority to create rules and regulations.

By not eating from the tree, the humans would show that they respected His right to rule.

By eating from the tree, they were saying that God was holding something good back from humankind and that He didn't have the right to rule over His creation. (Meaning that even though God created humans, they could do their own thing and be fine and didn't need God to direct them around.)

Because otherwise Christianity would have to make up another story about how we messed ourselves up and the ever loving benevolent God was basically helpless to stop us from ruing everything.

Well, it's nice to see that you're tolerant of other people's viewpoints.

Re: How come god created the tree of knowledge?

My take on the story of Adam and Eve:

God said that they could be happy in a state of bliss, or they could have the knowledge of good and evil.

People claim the world we're on is in a fallen state. I don't really think so. Yeah, there's death and disease and all sorts of unpleasantries, but there is so much good that wouldn't exist were it not for those bad things.

I personally like revelling in good things. When a doctor miraculously saves a patient that should have died, I revel, just as an example. I weep for tradgedy. It's part of human life, and (at least when I'm in a good mood, heh) I appreciate the utter twisted beauty of it all working together.

It's comments like this that trouble me. It shows that you obviously put no thought into what you believe, and instead blindly accept what you're told as the truth.

Re: How come god created the tree of knowledge?

In the beginning, we were all fish, okay, swimming around in the water. And then one day a couple of fish had a retard baby. And the retard baby was different so it got to live. So retard fish goes on to make more retard babies, and then one day a retard baby fish crawled out of the ocean with its mutant fish hands, and it had butt sex with a squirrel or something, and made this retard-frog-squirrel and then that had a retard baby which was a monkey-fish-frog, and then this monkey-fish-frog had butt sex with that monkey and that monkey had a mutant retard baby that screwed another monkey and that made you. So there you go. You're the retarded offspring of five monkeys having butt sex with a fish-squirrel.
Proof that god didn't create man and that if they did the retaded frog squirrels were tricked by the snake to eat the apple from the tree or some other bible things.
