I'm preaty-much as sucky as it gets. I usually get D's or C's on most purple songs in light. But I've only played about 10 times
I just wanted to let you know that I am cool...

drummerboy...just be quiet, we were all once newbs to FFR, and it goes the same way with DDR just keep working on it Can Man. You'll improve. I'm not a hell of alot better than you anyhow. I can't do any heavies yet, but a fair amount of standards. usually about 4-5 footers, sometimes 6.

As for the person who started this thread, I'll believe you *although there is still no proof that you accomplished that until you get us some screenshots or something* Doing that is definately good for a beginner. It took me atleast 2-3 monthes to get from light to standard. I doubt you going from standard to heavy will be much of a problem. light to standard is the biggest jump of all because this is when we go "1/4s? what the hell are those?"

I believe RobbyZero. I think anyone who had experience with FFR/StepMania can get good at DDR really fast. I have played StepMania for four months and started playing DDR a little more than two weeks ago, and I can AA most heavy songs. (but that's at home, on judge 1 and bar raping)

It all really depends how much you play. FFR helps to starters... and I could pass max 300 within like 2 months of getting the game... but maybe i've played as much as someone who's been playing for a year or so... It also depends how consistently you play... if you play a total of 30 hours with 2hrs each weeks, you won't be as good as if you play a total of 30 hours at 2hrs/day.

Back to the topic... thats pretty good for starting off Robby... strange speed mods but I guess you already play FFR and SM.

I've been playing DDR for maybe...3 months. I had a lot of experience with FFR and DWI, which helped A LOT. I didn't play very often at first, probably 5 games a month. Then me and my friend got to going like every week and I went from light to standard pretty damned quick. Everybody I know is amazed when they aee me play DDR. 6'2 and 260 pounds that could do most standard songs wow'ed people. I'm like 230 now, and I play DDR at home. I can basically beat all the Konamix songs except the 9 footers and a couple 8's.

So, in short, having a substantial amount of key-tapping practice will really help you out on DDR. If you can beat most heavy songs on SM/DWI you should be able to do standard songs pretty easy, unless you are physically uncapable of it.
