      Please don't pre-order.

It's a trend that must be stopped.

I'm still waiting to see what retailers do for it. Costco always has good prices on bundles and every bundle they do is original console box + extra controller + 2 games. It's usually cheaper than getting it all together. Hopefully that will come out to be $350 or at least under $400.

As of now the Wii is listed as a future product on their site.

Why? My luck always tends to be, "out of stock". I won't make that mistake with the Wii.

Even so, it's just becoming stupid to do.

I used to have a good argument for this but I lost it.

I only pre-order things I know won't be there on opening day. I know the Wii will be there opening day. 4,000,000 units are shipping to the United States. You guys should get plenty of units to hold you over on the other side of the lake as well.

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.

I'm going to try to preorder even though I fully intend to camp outside the store until it opens on release day. :P

What's wrong with preordering? I have actually had mulitple discussions with workers at EB Games where they did all they could to stress that they NEED preorders (this is in general, not Wii-specific), because the number of preorders they get directly influences how many units they get shipped. The guy told me numerous times that if they don't get many preorders, they aren't getting many units and there's nothing they can do about it and end up with many gamers unhappy when the shipment finally comes and then sells out in minutes.

So yeah, if you're planning on getting it from a certain place, preordering is a good thing. If you want to shop around and hope for a better deal like at Costco, go for it, but it's risking your ability to get one on release day or really for a while afterwards.

Well, I talked to the local Game Crazy. They're not taking preorders for Wii, because they "aren't getting enough." Their initial order is at 25, but the manager said it was going up to 40. They get the systems in about a week before the release, November 19th. I didn't know they got them that far in advance, but they won't sell until the "release date." People will be playing it long before, anyway =/

Oh, and the number is A LOT better than the PS3. The same store I mention is getting FIVE PS3s. That's right, only FIVE.
