No, it isn't sad. This was the first time I had ever flown a kite in my life. And I also got a Rope burn that made a gash a Centimeter deep into my index finger.

And, it's pretty hard to get a ropeburn while flying a kite. I don't even want to know how you did that.

its easy 2 get a rope burn while flying a kite,he just wasnt/didnt have that handle/spindle thingy thats the rope wraps around and therefore the kite went up fast and the rope slid through his hands and cause frisction which gave him the rope burn 8)

Too bad, I am going to tell you SotN.

Well, I got the ropeburns from having to quickly jerk the string upwards towards the sky to lift it off the ground. Then, when the air catches under the kite, quickly jerking it away from me, the string rubs against my skin at 50 to 60 miles per hour. And thus rope burn.

Not so hard as you think.
