        IT BEGINS!

The three news conferences set in all major release areas (Japan, America, and Europe) begin RIGHT NOW in Japan. 9:00 tomorrow morning is when we shall see the American conference, and 7:00 Friday morning in Europe.

These conferences are the last chance for Nintendo to tell us a price and release date, and also the final hardware. I think they're gonna do it.

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.

So it's pretty much confirmed so far.

            $250 console.
            $50 games (max).
            Comes with Wii Sports.
            30 titles out at launch.
30 Virtual Console games at launch.
            Various new features and such.
            Launches November 19th.
            2~5 million consoles at launch.

A bit later and a bit more expensive than I would have hoped for, but it's still the winner.

2:06 a.m. EST [update 10]: The press release is up. It lists the contents of the Wii box: Wii console, Wii remote (w/ strap) Nunchuck attachment, Wii AC adaptor, Wii A/V cable, Wii console stand(?), sensor bar, sensor bar stand and two AA batteries. Also, it seems the 25,000 yen price includes tax.

They say Virtual Console games will range from $5 - $10 apparently.

But really none of this is official until America's conference in the morning.

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.

Yeah. The prices are all in Yen and right now the conversions are not at all even, so I can't give you a price.

Basically, it's like 500 yen for NES, 800 for SNES, and 1000 for N64.

But they also said they were charging 6,800 for Zelda and 4,800 for Wii Sports, which, according to the article leak, is bundled with our version. This is where the conflict is and it's the reason I'm not going to bother converting Japan's release information into ours. They're getting a different deal entirely. They said no bundle with Wii sports and it's 25,000 ($212ish). American newspaper says bundled with Wii sports and it's $250. I don't know who is right and I don't care at the moment. I want an official word, so I'm just going to figure out what happened after I get up tomorrow.

Edit: Haha, interactive news was not a rumor. You can watch and play with the news on the Wii.

Morning edit: It's confirmed. The only thing I am feeling hurt on is the cost of another controller. $60? ><

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.

                      At present I am thinking:

                      Wii: $250.
                      Zelda: $50.
                      Monkey Ball: $30-$50 (PLEASE don't be 50 ><)
                      Extra Remote: $40.

Looking at anywhere from 370 to 390 like this. I don't think the nunchuck attachment will be worth it right off the bat for the second controller. You can still play all of the Sports games with it, and Monkey Ball might not use it. I'll have to find out.

I really just need to determine the worth of a second controller. I mean... I COULD get two and have anyone who comes over be able to play, or I could just play with others who have the console and not buy a second one.

So on second thought, I will either wait for the price to drop or a sale to come around methinks. That puts it at 330 - 350 depending on how Monkey Ball is priced.
