Of course, no one comments on my work...
Anyway, Sylverline, your art is really interesting to look at... I really like the first and the last ones of your four previous sig images you posted. The first one is, well, I'm not good at saying what I want to, but I like the flow of the stream and the little.... glittering.. thing... And the seahorse is really cool... And the fading hexagons make sure that it's not too bland, along with the star field... or whatever it is.... I'm n ot exactly sure what to say about the next two... sorry. But the fourth one.. I like how it looks, well it looks to me like it was done in pencil, and not in photoshop, and I like that...
As for CJ's angel, it's.. visually and meaningfully interesting... or something like that... It looks like it's either fading away, or, uh, appearing.... but the contrast with it and the black surroundings.... And I find it amazing how the head actually looks like a head..... .... I should probably just be quiet now...

I do see a recurring straight line coming out from the sides. Seems to be a motif in your work. I like the tribal one alot. I gotta get a Deviant Account thing

Agua

The vertical lines are too strong. The piece already has a strong up and down motion, making them that opaque is just overkill and makes the piece distracting.

Lose the diagonal lines over the middle of the image. They're completely out of place and are a completely disharmonious gestalt.

Work on the typography for agua, you have a smooth and cohesive image then some random halfway grunged-out text that's way too big.

I thought the ray-lines gave it good direction/movement and an abstract representation of sunrays underwater.
I really appreciate your advice and maybe you could help me in the future in my process, and I'd like to note text is really my weak point :\
I actually looked for your gesalt thread the other day to help improve a piece I was working on, but found that the images in the thread weren't working(which was unfortunate).

Well you already have a lot of vertical motion in the piece just from the gradiation and orientation of the main 3d piece. I think the ray-lines could work, but as it is now they're a bit too strong.



With typography, realize that the look of the text expresses a lot about the feeling the words convey. You have a sleek smoth piece with a smooth gradation between all the elements of it. Your text should have a similar feel to it: A techno-futuristic sans serif font with rounded edges and somewhat narrow lines immediately comes to mind as a good match for it.
