Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin. He has great solos, like in the song "Stairway to Heaven" and lots others!

Ok so i've been reading this entire thread and its so sad how everyone is getting at each other's throats just because they don't all like the same type of music.
First of all, NO BAND SUCKS because they still have a fanbase. They are good at arranging their music to the taste of certain people and that makes them somewhat geniuses. Don't get me wrong, there are bands out there who have no talent, but it doesn't mean they suck. They still know what people want and they give it to them (ie. Green Day).
So given that, i'd like to say that out of all the metal bands that i have listened to (which includes Iron Maiden, Metallica, Children of Bodom, In Flames, Slayer and DragonForce) the latter has some of the best guitar solos i have ever heard. Specifically "Through the Fire and Flames" is just amazing. Google search for the video and please watch it before you judge their talent. If you don't like it then so be it, but i don't think there is any living person that can honestly tell me they have no talent because they probably have more talent in their fingers than some people have in their entire bodies.

P.S I chose a (power) metal band mostly because i think its a lot harder to play therefore requires more talent than 70s/80s bands solos (they have damn good solos too)

just because hendrix picked up a random conventional guitar and learned to play it like a left-handed guitarist doesnt make him good whatsoever, it makes him extremely stupid for not learning it the right way.

wite's right, yngwie malmsteen and metallica's many lead guitarists in the past make them the best soloists i have ever heard.

Interesting song, it actually does have a really good guitar solo. Its interesting, i havent been on these forums in over like 6 months, but the same people are here (more or less) saying almost the same things. In any case, its good to be back.
