Holy crap, that sounds horrible. .
After reading that, I'm scared of getting my wisdom teeth removed. . My mouth hurts already, just thinking about that.
Got those painkillers yet? I've heard that they're as big as horse tranquilizers.
Anyways man, get better, it almost sounds like this is the most painful thing you will ever feel physically. Mine haven't even started to come in yet but that's just nuts. I don't want them out. :S
I had all four of mine out this year. Nothing nearly as traumatizing as forgetting painkillers, but there was copious bleeding and pain when the IV wore off.
Bummer- hope you recover soon! (Within about a week or two the swelling should go down and you'll look fine. And yes, it WILL all be over.)
I had my wisdom teeth out in mid-February, all four of them. The bottom two were impacted, so my dentist had to break them apart and pull the pieces out of my mouth, then sew up the sockets. I was prescribed Darvocet for the pain, but I only took one thanks to the wonders of Procaine, Novocaine's longer lasting cousin.
The only advice I can give you is to try and stay away from solid foods as much as possible; drink soups, juices, things like that. The first day with the bloody gauze is the worst, however, and after that it should be smooth sailing.
Apparently it takes the ****ing pharmacist 20-30 minutes to COUNT the number of pills I get. After hearing this I started crying.
You get some strange looks when you're in the parking lot of a grocery store and you have blood soaked gauze pads all over your lap and in you mouth and you're crying.
I had mine taken out last summer. Well only 2 of my wisdom teeth were impacted and they were on the same side so I didn't go through quite as much pain as you have. Well actually I endured very little pain.
I get to the oral surgeon or whatever they are called and then he showed me a little video of blah blah you might die from the anastesia blah blah sign this form and so forth. Then he gets an emergency patient so he has to go tend to him before me. The oral surgeon gives me a bunch of sleeping pills and leaves the room. I take them and when he comes back, he asked me if I was getting sleepy. I was a little bit but being the little pussy I was I lied and said I wasn't so he gave me even more sleeping pills. He puts in the IV and I am knocked unconscious. Apparently I was sleeping/knocked out for almost 24 hours and that is where it seemed you had the most pain. After that, I took pain killers and I had ice on my cheeks to help with the swelling. The swelling does get a little worse but as it does you can swallow without as much pain. I lived off of smoothies/jamba juice and jello for 2 weeks because I'm a slow healer =/ Good luck with that, I feel your pain.
O_o
pyro31191: TELL EVERYONE YOU WANT TO TAKE IT IN THE ASS NOW
pyro31191: rofl
pyro31191: You should tell them earlier though
pyro31191: so they can buy dildos instead of fleshlights
Almost all of the stitching in my gums has broken apart but nothing is really healed yet. So now I have huge holes on the back of my of mouth. Keeping up with the antibiotics and pain killers is really making this bearable though.
Oh, and they're swelling more and more each day lol.
