Sertmen. Calm down man. You just have to see that people here are very competitive. This is the place for all the best FFR/SM people, so people who are not quite as good (including myself) need to be able to accept criticism. It's what happens in life.

In school, you get good grades, oh well that doesn't matter because someone else did better/was smarter/did more work.

In work, you do work, someone can always do more work and do it better, so you get criticised.

People are always viewed through the best in life, I guess you just have to deal with it.

Let me clarify what i was talking about.

This community blows because they never look at the improvement. If I'm bragging, it's because I believe that I have improved, and this score shows that, regardless of how good the score is compared to other people. Nobody looks at the improvement factor, they just look at the score, and if it's not the best, they just say "uh that score blows" and move on. I could have a major skill boost but if it doesn't shoot me up to a level that only like 15 or so people are at, then my scores would still suck, even though it's insane for ME. And if it is insanely good, then people want proof. A lot of proof. Vid with judge/ini/no lag/keytaps/wtf else i said in my other post. And no matter what, people find ways to call bull****. It's the ****tiest community I've ever been a part of, period.

I do know what you mean, and it sucks that people base what you do on others and not on yourself, but it is the "brag board". You're trying to brag and say you are good, and in order to be good there must be other people who are not as good as you, so you can brag, or else why would you brag at all? If this was the "score" section then that would be fine, but this isn't the case here.

Though the whole madness about proof is a bit much, but sometimes necessary.

I don't think people are saying the scores suck because they're comparing them to the better people.

They're just natural jackasses that like to act stupid on the internet. Better get used to it.

To me, people generally used to be more supportive of improvements like last year and maybe before that. When I would post scores I'd get "good jobs" pretty often for most of the posts, despite the fact that I wasn't one of the bests.

Now, people just seem more critical and come across ruder to those type scores, because they seem to forget that not everyone is as good as them. That's one thing that turns me off from ever posting scores here now. Not everyone has been playing for a bajillion years. It's really kind of funny considering the fact that even the good players were at that suckier point at some point, yet they rarely acknowledge the fact or support people who are not as good.

I know there's always been competition and all, since it is the brag board, after all. But I think people these days are just more often assholes about it.

It's kind of like showing off your girlfriend. People might say she looks ugly or something bad, but does that mean you hate her? No.

I fail to see how that's relevant at all... I don't think anyone ever said that they're not proud of their scores because someone said they sucked

It's a major increase in people who, when people actually improve a whole lot, take one look at the scores and are like "this blows" without even looking to see if there was an improvement or not that is making this community suck. If a score isn't really that much of an improvement, then yeah, criticism is alright, but if it's a major accomplishment don't be a dick
