WTF xmods are superfun. Don't be like "oh no I got a worse score brb turning on raping-the-file-mods" XD. I think it's cool to play stuff that should be xmod'd with cmod but xmod is still fun man wtf XD
xmod only files are stupid, all it does is randomize the arrow scroll
You might as well make files which are 'meant to be played on reverse ffs', sure it makes it more challenging but that doesn't mean that playing w/out an xmod is against the rules lol
The first time I run through a simfile with any bpm change I always go xmod, just to see if the author did anything cool. Usually, however, (after those first few times) I play files on cmod too. If I'm gonna post a score of a song with mines / bpm tricks, I see no sense in doing nomines / cmod though.
[02:02:16] <Hayden> i carry the plastic i make it spastic when i put it in ya moms ass boy her **** is elastic when im finished in knee that slut in the jaw snap her back in to pieces i lay down the law cuz i gots no respect fo that ***** elixers **** seeing as he got double dick ****ed on dust 2 by an ingram at long A in pit
xmods are yucky...especially when BPM halving/doubling is involved, then they're just horribly gay
I'd also like to add that I hate mines, too.
There's a reason that cmodded scores aren't stored on ITG machines. bpm tricks are there for a reason. Believe it or not, not all of the difficulty in a file comes from the arrows a lone. Some of it comes from your ability to read the notes and handle freezes and changes as well as to avoid mines. If you turn any of them off you are not playing the file at the difficulty it was intended to be played at, and thus your score has no credit.
Believe it or not, not all of the difficulty in a file comes from the arrows alone.
But in the VAST majority of files (or at least the ones I play) that IS all the difficulty comes from. If the marjoity of files had BPM tricks/mines (and I don't mean just randomly halving the BPM, I mean like Growth Grass style tricks), then I'd never turn them off and accept them as part of the game--but as far as I'm concerned, since they generally aren't used, there's no point in me learning them, so I leave them off.
Not to say that I'd never to try to deal with those things once in a while just for fun, but my main way of playing any song will be C700/NoMines unless I start to play a LOT of files with BPM tricks and mines.

Half the reason I make my files now is to insert difficulty in areas people aren't used to, and it's ******s like you who try to homogenize it into the other ****ty tripe that's released by destroying what in the file gives it it's difficulty.
Wahhh, I suck at doing something so I'm going to remove it... How retarded.
I must say I fully agree with ap.
Stepmania is old, I need to play new cool stuff to not get bored and quit lol. I've been cmodding jumpstreams for ages
