I accidently stepped on the top screen of my DS (was unfolded), and the next thing I knew something was broken and pixels died off. Well, not the pixels, but they wouldn't light up along with the rest of the backlight. It was just a few pixels. When I pressed the back of the top, too, it "broke" more. So I said "**** it" and I pressed on the back enough so now it's evened out. No backlight is annoying, though, and there's still a crack and some wierd black stuff at the top.

I have a new DS, though. Luckily they're not all that expensive >__> I may disect my old DS some day, though, of course, with many precautions and knowledge of wtf I'm doing.

Well, yes. Stepping on the weak point will inflict massive damage.

Breaking News, (literally) I havn't played my DS in a couple weeks, so its been hanging out in my backpack. But today I decided to pick up a copy of Tetris, so when I opened the DS up to play it, the top screen was cracked. I guess I should be a little less rough with my backpack.

Hmmm, yeah, more proof that the top screen is way too weak.

I made a new one at work today. My old ones fail in comparison to this beauty.

It's pretty much exactly the size that the real one will be. It has the exact ergonics sans the bottom curvature. It does not have a battery pack in the back, sorry.

Also, do not even think of asking for the Nunchuck attachment. It's impossible with this material. It's foamcore. It's just thick (acid-free) paper. It can curve one way and one way only.

Yeah, the controller is small. The console is small. Not to mention quiet and efficient.

I love my Dreamcast, but MAN could that thing be loud and obnoxious.

And I like the 360, but it's gotta be an electricity hog.

Both negligible small complaints...but still, definite advantages.

In many ways, yes. It has better graphics, processing, etc.

But that isn't the point of this console.

Your computer doesn't have motion-sensing technology. Your computer doesn't have the ability to play these games at all. All you can do is sit one hand on WASD and the other on the mouse and click to shoot things, whereas on the Wii, you can shoot the controller like a gun. Your hand's rotation dictates how you hold the gun. You pull a trigger like you're firing a gun. You hear the depth of sound like you're firing a gun.

There's a huge difference between walking up to a door and pressing 'e' than walking up to a door and thrusting your left hand forward to force it open.

I have many more if you want to hear them.

I really hope it comes out like that, but I really doubt that developers will take so much time on the little things like opening a door.

Probably not. Recent rumor is saying that the Wii is great to develop for, but the entire development cycle ends up being comparable to that of the 360 because of the amount of time which is needed to get the controller working correctly in all aspects. So the cost will still be much lower, but the whole development cycle will take about as long.

Of course at this point that's still rumor. Although EA did publicly state that the controller took quite a bit of time to get down.
