Annnnnnnnnnnnnd we're done. Tasuke should have pics up eventually as he was the only one who had a camera. I suck at overviewing, but Snapps sucks at pool, DDR freestlying was chill, and In'N'Out was delicious. Jewpin didn't make it, sadly (I hope his recording went well), and Varia had car problems. Big car problems.
I got there first, around 11:30. It would have been 11:10, but it took me 20 minutes to find the place, because it was nearly impossible to find unless you knew it was there. I ate, because I was there early.
Soon after I ate, Snapps came in first, with Sleeplessdragon and Tasuke not far behind. Between DDR, ITG, and Beatmania, we had a good amount of fun. I am now about a 6-7 footer person, thanks to some DDR training by Sleepless, our 9-10 footer. Snapps blew us all away on ITG, and did songs that I would have called "Keyboard Only". We also played some race game called Maximum Tunes 2 or something. After about an hour to an hour and a half, we decided to rest a little, I went up to the store and got us all an Ice water, and then the 4 of us played pool.
The teams where: Sleepless/Tasuke Vs. Snapps/Cenright
The first game was down to the 8-ball, Snapps/Cenright win.
The second game was won by Sleepless/Tasuke, while Snapps/Cenright had 1 ball left on the table.
This second game, Snapps was trying to do a double shot, making 2 in at once. I told him he wouldn't get either and he should just go for one at a time, but they are both only 3 inches from the pocket. We take a picture before, and after, because I knew he was going to miss, and wanted proof. I was right, and we will soon have the pictures up.
This is when we had Snapps trying to do super bank shots, after the second game. Snapps was trying to hit a ball off all 4 rails. I started a 1 quarter bet on how well he would do. Here is how our 3 bets went down:
Sleepless: 2 rails, does not make it in.
Cenright: 3 rails, does not make it in.
Tasuke: 4 rails, does not make it in.
(We told Snapps, that if he made it in, we would give him the 3 quarters.)
First time, he totally misses the cue ball with his pool cue, so we let him try again. He miss-hits, hits the cue into the ball, but with almost no speed on the ball, it barely hits 1 rail, and so we take all our quarters back.
Snapps, in his frustration, takes the cue in his hand and slides it across the table towards the pocket. He misses, and the cue ball goes bouncing around. He does it again, and again, and again. Finally after about a minute, he pickes it up, throws it straight down in the pocket, where the cue ball bounces straight up, hits both sides of the pocket, and then rolls barely back on the table. We knew he was bad it pool, but we didn't think that the game actually hated him until today. It was a while before we could stop laughing.
There was a small Cenright Vs. Tasuke game of pool, but Tasuke accidentally put the 8-ball in the pocket, and lost, so we called it quits.
There was all the Marvel Vs. Capcom Vs. Streetfighter Vs. whatever other fighting game. (There were a lot) Those got played some, but there was going to be a tournament in a few hours, so those games got mobbed a bit.
Snapps and I played a game of Air Hockey and he beat me 7 to 4.
Snapps's mother came in, and she point one of those plastic ice cream cones, that when you press the button, the foam ball that sits on top goes popping off. She points it at Snapps, and Snapps stops. Then out of curiosity, he looks at it, just as his mom is pressing the button, pegging Snapps right in the eye. It actually came across pretty funny.
We were wrapping things up now, playing our last games of DDR.
Now that we are finished, we follow tradition, and go to In-N-Out.
The take FOREVER. To make a Cheeseburger with nothing on it but ketchup and mustard, it took 7 minutes. Fun conversation, Snapps making up new words for exhausted, the rest of us saying things while Tasuke is on the phone with his mother that made it sound like he was in bed with someone, etc.
It was another Successful CA Convene.
Soon, we will have gone to every good game place around, and will be able to tell people where the best ones are.
