Re: Liberals, race, and religion
Why do you automatically assume that anyone who believes in a higher being is just some sheep? Of course there are people who accept their religion at face value, but those people are in a minority. I've already stated that many people question their faith, and they come up with their own answers, but you don't seem to be paying attention to a word I say.
Here's your good reason for defending the Bible:
If you believe it is true, and someone attacks your faith, you are going to defend it. I am defending the Bible because I believe it is the the spoken word of God, written by his followers, translated way too many times, but I still believe it. Now, if you can't accept that as a good reason, then you are close-minded and I'm through wasting my thoughts on you.
And I never said children don't accept what they are told. I said it is not right to give them information without explanation just because they will accept whatever you tell them. But I won't assume you know anything about the way children learn, so I won't bother.
And you would not have thought of the evolution of species if someone else hadn't told you about it. You wouldn't have known what "Two" means if someone hadn't told you. ALL knowledge is passed down from one to another.
