That just showed how clueless they were back then. Anything they couldnt explain they blammed on magic. Which is why you cant really trust anything they say as the truth. Along time ago it used to be a sin to beleave the sun was the center of the universe. The church pretty much disowned you if you thought diffrent from them. But later it was proven and they changed their beleifs.

Not saying there cant be some super natural being that created us all but the bible is a man made book and doesnt even have anything to do with a god.

Why cant people just accept that we are just here instead of going around and making up religions just so they can have false hope.

How about you try at least making an arguement instead of saying i dont have one and that i dont know anything about it.

How should i explain why its wrong more then just that. 2+2=5 is just as wrong.

Technically, one cannot simply state to a child that two plus two does not equal five without first explaining to the child the quantity represented by "two," "five," and "four," the correct sum of two and two. Simply telling a child, "2+2=4 because that's the way things are," is encouraging the child to just accept what he is told. While it is evident to you and me that 2+2 =/= 5, it is not so obvious to a five- or six-year-old.

Why is this relevant, you ask? The same applies to critical thinking. One cannot simply make argumentative statements without evidence one believes to be true to back up said statements. You have not really presented any debateable statements because everything you say is clouded by your blatant hatred of religion. You told me that my ideas were wrong, but failed to explain why, while I could present a myriad of statements to show you that I am perfectly correct in what I believe.

Now, my goal is not to convert an unbeliever. I could type until I developed carpal tunnel syndrome and still have no success with you. My goal is to carry out an intelligent conversation with you about why I believe what I believe, and why you believe what you believe, but you're not giving me that opportunity. Grandiagod basically summed up everything you've contributed to this thread and yet you CONTINUE to post on the attack.

Izzy, I don't understand why you have such a strong knee-jerk reaction to any of this. There was another thread where you got all worked up over this.

You can't go up to somebody and tell them they are wrong, then ask them to explain how they are right.

Why? Cause i really want to know why people defend the bible. I really want someone to give me a good explanation. Its not me that needs in an explanation cause im not the one making stuff up. Like if someone comes up to you and tells you there is a dieing guy in the other room. Hes the one that needs to proove that not the other person.

And children do accept what they are told. That is the only reason people have all these crazy religions. Cause they force their children into it.

Izzy you got to listen to what people are saying that's how you learn.
You don't have do be so defensive if someone thinks your ideas were wrong, you got to respect the fact that they are also interested to share their ideas about this topic. If someone proves you wrong, so what? Don't deny it.

We can and do prove you wrong, time after time. It's just that you don't listen. If you want to keep being combative and crap then leave, otherwise state your point thoughtfully and intelligently instead of argueing. There is a difference between argueing and debating.

First of all, your analogy about the dying person is silly and does not relate.

The bible covers many topics. Many of those are events and such that did or didn't happen. But you're entirely missing the point about religion. Just because there was no Noah's Ark like it says, doesn't mean there's no god. It also, equally importantly, does not mean that you should throw a fit if someone wants to learn about it.

Edit: Im not even caring about people beleaving in a god that create the universe and whatever. But the only reason they came to that conclusion is because someone else told them. If no one ever told them about the bible they would never have thought of it. So there for its not really what you beleave but what someone else told you, you should beleave. And since the bible is just stories its crazy that people live by and take it for real.
