    Holy crap.

What an ass that guy is.

The worst part, however, is not being able to get the rental car. That's not salt on an open wound, that's like, acid on an open wound.

RE: My poor car - The hit and run.

Canada also has those retarded laws about having to be 25 to rent a car? Damn.

In any case, talk to your insurance company about that, and check out other rental places--when my friend's car was totaled in California, she was able to get a rental even though she was only 21, because her insurance company vouched for her to the rental office. Maybe yours will do the same?

Or get one of your parents to rent a car FOR you, and either drive that one or one of theirs. This is not feasible?

I never had this problem, even when I wrecked my car and that other time that my car died, because my family has about 14 different cars around the house, in various states of working or not. In fact, one day I had to drive 4 different cars because they kept having problems.

In any case, there really is no alternative for you? Are your parents chauffering you around now? It must suck.

RE: My poor car - The hit and run.

My friend, (he's Canadian, from Ontario... so am I...but w/e) anyways, He got in an accident... (someone hit him) when he was 22. His truck needed 6000 dollars worth of work and was outta commission for at least 3 weeks. He was able to get not one, but TWO rental cars... (well, one he said was shitty and used too much gas then a different one which he proceeded to beat the shit out of.) But yeah, so keep looking around for rental places... you should be able to work something out.

P.S: I'll ask my friend the name of his rental place, see if I can get you some info.

RE: My poor car - The hit and run.

I got a rental at 21 this summer... had it for about a week between the time of when the insurance company ruled my car totaled and when I got all the paperwork in order for my new car.

And, yea... if someone did that to my old car, I wouldn't care. the POS. but my new hotness... all bets would be off. And the fact its a sporty little thing, it goes pretty fast. no question I could outrace a pickup truck.

0-100 in under 4 seconds? That's what... 70 mph? 0-60MPH is hard for most cars - even ubersporty ones - to do, but in a HYBRID? Don't think so... Something about the story doesn't mesh to me. I don't doubt that your car got totaled, it's just suprising to me that driving through downtown at 140km+ in a high-speed chase, more people didn't either get hurt or call 911....

It's a standard. It can do whatever it wants. And the hybrid has incredible pick up, in not only loads on the gas when you want it to (standard) but it gets a huge boost from the batteries. It maxes out at 185, but it has really good pickup at low speeds.

And more people did get hurt. Guy sideswiped three cars to get away from me.

When I get my car back I'll take a 4 second video and post it.

Wow, what a total asshat. Hope you feel better soon after all that. Seriously, not even I deserve that kind of trouble (although some here might find that debatable).

That Guy = Uber Gay. I remember this one time my father was coming home from work and there was this huge cement truck and it wouldn't move. It was doing a job. So he was forced to go around it to go home. Needless to say there weren't any traffic directors and when he went to go around it, a red pickup smashed into his front. No one was hurt because my dad like backed up really fast to prevent all damage and the other guy braked. The construction guys got fired though.

Why do hybrids cost so much?

I still find 0-62mph in 4 seconds an extreme exageration... *goes to do research*

                      9.6
                      11.3
                      10.6
                      11.0

need I go on? Not exactly all near each other... but the low is still well over 9 seconds for 0-60. My 02 Sentra SE-R only does 0-60 in 8 seconds... 2006 porshe boxster caymen's are only 5.1-5.4... so, yea...
