Here are some descriptions for each from the Battle.net website.

Footmen Frenzy is a very popular version of Footman Wars on the Lordaeron, Azeroth, and Northrend gateways. The basic goal of the game is to use your heroes and auto-spawning troops to destroy your opponents. Footmen Frenzy is different from other Footman War type games because it adds custom heroes, random options, creeps, items, and places not available in other Footman type maps.

DotA stands for "Defense of the Ancients." It is a free mod for Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. The purpose of the game is to defend your Ancient and try to destroy the opponent’s Ancient. The Ancients are located deep in both bases, at the top right and bottom left corners of the map. The game allows you to choose from over 70 heroes that differ greatly in play style. Each of these heroes has been carefully designed to be both balanced and unique. The map is updated frequently, sometimes to add new heroes, fix bugs, or to make a balance update. The strategic possibilities in a DotA game are endless, and choosing the wrong item and hero combination can mean the difference between winning and losing.

Both maps are for The Frozen Throne, but there are versions of Footies for RoC, and the classic DotA is for RoC. There are places to download the RoC versions of Footies, I doubt you'd be willing to take the time to search for them so I'll upload one later if you're intrested. Here you can download DotA Classic, but just download 3.6, 3.7, and 3.71TE, those are the most common played.

Yea, I downloaded the game from the site, but It doesnt seem to work. I am currently working on a game myself. It is on a map I made. Every one has a base hidden away inside the mountains. You have a partner. The twist is, in the beginning all of your builders and troops start in random locations, and yes that means enemy bases. I think it will be a half decent game when I get around to finishing it.

i was Sylvania ( i got the name off of a VHS tape) im not sure of the server though.
i used to play everyday for like 3 - 4 months. After a while i became partial to all of the
tower wars and stuff. i owned at Skibi's and zoator's.

Starcraft isn't a rush game. Not in 1v1. What the hell. Noobs. It's a rush game if it's zerg vs zerg and toss vs toss maybe. XD Terran Vs Toss rush? Uh no. Same with Toss vs Zerg. As with almost every other matchup. The game is easy to end in the first 15 minutes though if there is a big skill imbalance between players.

However, team sc games are rush fests. But so are WC3 games...so XD

Both games are hard at competitive level. In one way WC3 is harder because the skill curve is smaller...meaning, at high level players are very close in skill and WC3 also has many things that are influenced by luck. This is mostly because WC3 is all micro <_> But SC is very hard because you don't just micro late game. You have to macro and micro, effectively and usually at the same time.

Yea.. wc3 is harder to WIN IN alright...it's also imbalanced and influenced by luck LOL. SC is harder to play competitive level in please. It's also a better RTS. WC3...your skill stops. The game is all micro. How can you get much better? You can't. All of the pro gamers are very close in skill. Moon stands out though. Other than that? SC you can always keep getting better, because the game involves both micro and macro, and also involves controlling the map. Running around gaining exp doesn't count as controlling the map because you arn't holding the position.

I don't play either games anymore, but I might reinstall starcraft sometime soon and start playing again

I love WC3. My gaming life is basically World Of Warcraft (Occasionally), WC3 TFT, Just for the sole purpose of DOTA (Best game). And then FFR.

Has anybody played the RoC dota? The dota that isn't pick the most overpowered hero and kill with your invisible 1 hit ko attack?

Dota allstars is stupid.
