Typically gums bleed from probing if you haven't been brushing and flossing enough, same thing if it hurts (usually the bleeding and hurting go hand in hand)
I personally go to dental colleges most of the time since it's cheap to get cleanings and checkups, but for most of my fillings I think I went to a destist. (had sealants put in from both)
So yeah, typically I have rather hot girls, or sometimes some rather young guy checking on my teeth... not super experienced though, but I guess that's why the dentist does the important stuff.

I always leave the dentist with my mouth in more pain than before. Aren't dentists supposed to FIX/clean your teeth? Instead, they cut up and damage my teeth. Yeah, sure, they look nice in the end, but i hate getting my gums cut up in weird places all the time.

I have to go on the 30th, I think. I've been going to the same dentist since I was like...3. He's a children's dentist and I really like him. They recently re-did their office so it's really cool with TVs and stuff. He's really nice and I've never had a problem with him.

It's not that it bleeds during the cleaning. He uses the pick. He sticks it into the gums. He pulls. I bleed.

I hate to break the mood here, but I really like my dentist. I think it helps that I enjoy getting my teeth cleaned though.

Me too. Mine is really gentle and always has postive stuff to say. Plus the Hendrix in the background... well... let's just say I like the dentist more than most do.

My dentist is a pretty cool guy. He was a quarterback (don't know if he started or not) for U of M's football team way back when. Some of the techs aren't so cool, but what can you do.

But I'm kind of upset that I got sealed, then began once more to brush my teeth twice a day, then got a cavity on a sealed tooth. Whaaaaaaaat.

I used to brush not so regularly and my parents were all "HOW U GET NO CAVITIES ???" and then I go to the dentist and they are all "YUO HAVE REALLY THICK EMANEL O"

So I guess that's how I don't get cavities. I do the whole brushing/flossing thing now though, because I like white/clean teeth.

My dad brushes his teeth so hard that apparently he brushed the enamel off.

I don't know if that's true, but that's what he said.

And I was in the same situation as LEGO. Now I don't leave the house if I don't brush my teeth. I'm also obsessive with brushing my tongue because I don't want my breath to smell, and if I think it ever does I always have gum or mints with me.

I brush them before I go out in the morning ritually. But my problem is that sometimes I don't get home 'till about 3AM. At that point I just hold off until morning.

I punched my nurse one time out of reflex. She was new and was poking my gums too hard and I kept asking her to stop, but she kept going, "Wait a second, wait till I get the hook out."

And then she hit the roof of my mouth with it and my hand shot out. I hit her in the gut and she backed up against the computer. The dentist laughed about it. He didn't know that I have A DEATH WISH.

It sucked when I had root canals done because the stupid lady wanted to "irrigate" alot, which hurt more every time she did it. And when they drill into your tooth, it smells horrible.



..which is really what an endodontist does but I hate dentists too.

lol @ people who have to brush all the time. I brush once a day, always have, eat sweets a lot, and have never gotten a cavity. All my dentists say I need to do a little bit better job flossing, as if they think I actually floss at all. rofl

But uh, my old dentist in VA was cool, but this new guy sucks ass. He goes too fast and the P-Units don't feel that his cleaning is sufficient, but what bothers me is that he tells me the same damn story with advice EVERY TIME I GO TO HIS OFFICE!! The second time he told it, I even told him that he had already told me and recited part of it, but he told it anyway, and told it again after that.

Also, he doesn't have a little vacuum thing, I have to spit into a cup. Spitting into a cup while I'm leaning back in the dentist chair = messy and makes me feel like a retarded kid (especially with the bib and all). >___<
