Most opening and ending themes in anime's are horrible. The fact that I'm not Japanese relates to the fact that I can't appreciate them. Especially ending themes, ugh, those ones are the scrapings of the pan of Japanese themes.

o_O What a gross generalization. A lot of themes are great, ending themes included. Try listening to "The End of the World" from Stellvia. It's an ending theme and still one of my top favorite songs.Originally posted by lord_carboMost opening and ending themes in anime's are horrible. Also, while an understanding of the lyrics definitely helps, that's not to say you can't enjoy a song if you don't understand it. You can still appreciate it musically, the same way you do with lyric-less songs such as those in FFR, which I assume you enjoy.
Anyway, I'm not voting in these things because I don't think I've been here long enough to really have a say in something that represents the forums.♪~
Always Happy! Smile! Hello!
I like delicious things
I shoot eye beams at the things I hate and make them explode! (Yay!)
So Happy! Smile! Hello! It's a picnic every day
There's lots of happiness in my pocket
So let's play forever~Comment

Ever heard of Rammstein? German band. Sings songs in German. They're kinda popular here in the US even if you can't understand a word they're saying. Even got a music video up on MTV back when it was at least trying to show some music videos.Originally posted by lord_carboMost opening and ending themes in anime's are horrible. To sum it up: generalizing dislike toward something is not very smart. If Nintendo puts out some Disney games, does that make their console for kiddy games only? A heck of a lot of people seem to assume this. However, when I look at my collection, about 70% of them have a nice little "T" in the corner.
Therefore, generalizations are dumb. Give them a chance or don't post about it.

Well, I like Kiseki no Umi sung by Sakamoto Maaya and written by Kanno Yoko. But...w/e.
Note: Kanno Yoko is one of the most brilliant songwriters ever. The thing that makes her stand out is her specialty in writing songs that are exotic and mysterious. Kiseki no Umi is one of the best out there. Written as the amazing opening theme song for Record of Lodoss Wars TV series, it combines all of the elements that make an amazing Kanno Yoko song: ingenious writing, a foreign feel, Gabriela Robin back-up, and a hauntingly beautiful female voice as the lead. Sakamoto Maaya is even better known for her Kanno Yoko songs than for her actual seiyuuing talent, but I suppose that can't be helped either. In any case, a summary: great singer, great writer, great song. Recognize.Comment

I've heard of them, and I've heard their music. A few months ago, actually. One of their songs was okay, but the rest were too "hardcore" for my tastes, and a couple of them weren't good at all, but hey, all CD's made from one artist have bad songs on them :P A dimensional rift would open if an artist made a CD where all the songs were awsome* XD Erm, anyway....Originally posted by MrESqueekEver heard of Rammstein? It was actually kind of funny. We were in the car listening to Rammstein, and my cousins were joking around about the lyrics, saying "LOL GEWD THING IT'S GERMAN THESE LYRICS ARE T3H BAD LAWL" because it was a mission trip and all =/

Well after looking at everything, these are the most popular of the nominations:
OT: Undecided
ET: "Ride On Shooting Star" - The Pilllows - FLCL
OST: "Komm Susser Tod" - End of Evangelion
Ok, now we need to decide the Opening theme and vote on all three.
