Hey guys, participant list should be updated yet again. We're over 50 people strong now! Thanks for all the interest, I'm looking forward to getting this thing going in a week.

...Oh yeah! Friendly reminder here that Round 1 will start in one week's time! I know I'm looking forward to it, and I hope you guys are too.
I'll be sending out a PM to everyone once the first round does start, so just in case you forgot that you signed up, hopefully that will be a nice little reminder.

Also, I'll be starting to give people their initial placements on the spreadsheet here shortly, and I'll make another post here when I finish with that. Before that, though, just to address a few things from the thread:

oh d6+ players aren't allowed? how about for every division higher than D5, you gotta play on a higher rate?

so D6 1.1,
D7 1.2
D8 1.3

Calculating what rate works best for a file to hit a certain difficulty tends to require input from someone roughly at that skill level because of how unevenly different patterns scale with rates.

Unless you have access to someone of D6, D7, and D8 skill levels to provide that feedback, it's probably best just to stick to divisions that have enough files that are already given difficulties that are roughly correct by FFR, rather than having to calculate uprate difficulties yourself.

An uprates tournament was definitely something I've considered doing in the past but the logistics of it is still surprisingly hard.

I agree with this. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to mess around with trying to find good rates for higher difficulty players. I think that'd be a bit too much for me to do with everything else on my plate atm.

Honestly it sounds good. I want to join, but idk if it's possible if I couldn't do the FFR 13th tournament.

I'll join. I'm level 73, but all my scores that got me that level are from 11+ years ago. In the month+ that I've been playing again, my top scores would get me level 68. I'll leave that up to you where to place me.

And right when I thought I was done with initial placements, this happens, lol. Gotta say, I definitely wasn't expecting this, but I'm glad to have you!

If you'd like to donate to the prize pool, log in and hover over the Home header on the front page. Click on "Credit Shop", and from there, you can send me (Charmoeleon) however many credits you'd like (every credit helps!). Just be sure to leave a message with your donation so I know it's for the tournament!

If you go to your Home drop down at the top of the screen, the credit shop is there.

That will give you the option to transfer credits, just type in the username you're transferring to.
