vanilla servers are going to be botched so fucking badly it'll be hilarious
either people will go in with nostalgia bias and realize how far wow has come and much "better" it is now, or people will go in with nostalgia bias and blizz will have made vanilla servers simply "the vanilla zones but with current class fantasy"

and in the event that I'm wrong, vanilla servers will ultimately serve as yet another way to draw a divide between current players. I'm honestly not looking forward to the players who will give me, and others like me, shit that I'm enjoying the game in it's current state, and I'm sure people who play exclusively vanilla servers are not looking forward to other people giving them shit for being stuck in the past



that all said I'm looking forward to the expansion, and I'll definitely be switching over to a pvp-centric approach. maybe that'll last for only a little bit before I go back to raiding, but the trailer definitely got me hyped up for some pvp

I think my comments are justified based on “We want to reproduce the game experience that we all enjoyed from the original, classic WOW,"
they said explicitly that they want to reproduce the game experience, not the launch experience

It'll most likely be released at 1.12 The only thing we won't know is if all the content will be open from the get go or if it starts with mc and ony. In a perfect world it'll be 1:1 with the updated graphics, but we can dream.
