oh well game over I'm super sad that all of the effort I put into posting my town meta was unraveled by someone using out of thread content, I was 100% sure we would win

Bah, whatcha goin' on about? You did amazing. You had everyone fooled. Hell, I'm pretty sure if I didn't see what I did you'd win 100% of the time.

Don't discredit yourself just because the game ended in a draw due to leaked content that was okay'd by the host.

however it's oog that's freely available to anyone
I'd imagine that it wouldn't be too hard to make it impossible to link to posts within twg subforums when clicking on browsing ffr posts

but it's still a modkillable thing

so I'd say the win goes to wolves, since there was no chance that I was getting day killed

strongly disagree, it's information that is pertinent to the game and it has been widely used, just not in this form. Think of every read or thought that anyone has ever made related to someone showing up in the bottom "Users Viewing" bar. There was even one time that lurker called me a wolf for being in thread prior to the nightkill flip. So I think it's totally fair game, but not in the spirit of TWG.

Think of every read or thought that anyone has ever made related to someone showing up in the bottom "Users Viewing" bar. There was even one time that lurker called me a wolf for being in thread prior to the nightkill flip. So I think it's totally fair game, but not in the spirit of TWG.

but I'll agree that it's not in the spirit of twg and it's stupid that we even have players, sometimes good players, using these kinds of informations

the game should be strictly in the thread imo and if there's no way to accommodate that then we should switch to a different format

I do think there's a difference but I don't think that difference makes it illegal

I think it's a flaw in the forum that needs to be addressed and that's what we're doing. in fact there already have been changes made so that this can't happen again

I think it's really good Charu figured this out. It's this reason why rules exist in the first place. I'm torn because I would argue it's still legal, but I can understand and am fine with it being removed. (It kinda adds a new twist to the game almost imo? I dunno)

you have to disable bookmarks in order to play around it
and you have to do this on your phone, etc

if you have a friend/someone else and you're reading posts on their laptop or something you can similarly get boned because they have bookmarks saved

way too much of an undue burden imo

I do want to mention one thing

in f7 when people were saying they wanted to lynch me after lito and charu had crossvoted
this is mechanically incorrect

once lito and charu cross like that, even if players haven't checked in yet, you resolve that world

lito was "confident" enough to vote charu, and the game did not instantly end. This means that there is always (at least) one between the two of them, or wolves haven't checked in yet

now, lets break this down; why it doesn't matter whether there are inactive wolves on not

once lito has voted, he is saying "I am so confident that Charu is a wolf that I am staking the game on it." or at least that's what he has to pretend to say if he is a wolf. He is never moving that vote out of principle because he is staking the game confident.

Charu has to vote back because of mechanics.

Because wolves can check it at any time, lynching between lito and charu becomes priority number one. If they are both town, the game is instantly over effectively so long as lito wasn't trying to catch wolves in a voterush.

Once this has happened, lynching anyone other than lito or charu inherently decreases your chances of winning the game. You are deciding to lynch outside of a known 50/50 (or a 100/0 if they're both wolves) to lynch within a 40/60 chance of hitting a wolf.

No matter how sure you are that I am a wolf, the odds are never in your favor there.

This isn't even factoring in who you think lito or charu or me or anyone else is with, this is purely without a single read on the game at that point.

100% agree

Charu's play this game was killer. He solved the game while town was on the brink of death. You can call it angleshooting if you want, but he just saw public information and did the math. In AA's position I would have OKed it too.

Still, I'm glad it's a one-off and we won't see anymore games won this way. I think metainfo is okay within certain bounds, but the specific post you are currently looking at is a little much.

as i mentioned to suns in wolf chat, the only reason i went this route instead of f3 wine auto-win, was frankly, indubitably, fuck the police.

I think if people want this game to be counted as a win one way or the other then it would be fairest to say wolves would have won. Choof's play was stellar (although rip your wolf meta forever lmao) and I think 9/10 times haku would have voted charu in f3. Although I do think the game would have gone to exactly f3 with haku, charu, and wineandbread.
