It's okay, I feel like I did a not so honest thing.

But since people in past (dead chat mentioned this too I saw, lol) used people viewing a means to say something, I thought it was okay here.

Game is a draw, we can discuss if one side gets awarded a win, probably doesn't matter that much.

i want to offer that although wolves played very well, i think this should stay either at a draw or no contest for both teams, on account of it being an incomplete game

I've said this in deadchat, but I see no way a rulechange will prevent this sort of thing from reoccurring. It's a burden on the players to take the necessary steps to hide their tracks in the confines of the medium we play on.

On discord, that means appearing offline to prevent people from reading into the wolfteam all popping up online/offline at the same times constantly. On FFR, that means logging out, going invis, or closing profile. I take these steps as either alignment because our medium (FFRTWG) isn't secure enough to prevent people from discovering OOG info from our statuses.

In this specific case, Charu had no way to unsee what he saw, and took the necessary step to ensure it was legal. While I feel that intentionally attempting to discover info by manipulating the parameters of the game is inherently againdt the spirit of the game, he had no way to unsee what he saw and his reads were automatically affected. At that point, nothing he could've done would change the outcome of the knowledge he stumbled upon.

Trying to play while knowing the truth places a burden on him to either pretend he never saw it (burden of invention), ask to replace (burden of forfeiture), or share what he saw with everyone else. He did this after ensuring it was legal, and I can't fault him in the slightest. Nor can I fault the wolves who made it possible for him to discover this info.

In the future, everyone needs to be aware of their responsibility to cover their tracks. I'm "appear offline" on discord in every game I play as either alignment, and usually use my phone or go invis when I'm viewing thread at night as either alignment.

Just my thoughts. I don't think it's fair to fault anyone for a situation that became unavoidable the moment Charu became aware of the info he possessed.

we talked about this in the deadchat and I pretty much disagree that what Charu did should be allowed in the future

he played within in the bounds of the game

but the bounds of the game needs to change

it's bullshit that something like what he did should be permissible now that we know about it

i slightly favor shados approach if only because its easier to change player behavior than force chance upon the medium we play with.

I agree with DBP. There's gotta be a solution for this.
Haku and a couple others were talking about potentially either removing the "postview" feature entirely or creating an entirely different style of subforum for FFRTWG. Either would be great.

I said what I said because there's currently no better option and no amount of rule modification will change it, but improving the playability of our forum design as a whole would obviously be ideal.

we HAVE to do something about this if we can
we NEED to remedy this if we can
otherwise we cannot play TWG the way we normally do

if setting profiles to closed is all it takes, then I think that this is not too large of a burden
I will do just about anything to ensure that a moderator account does not provide an unfair advantage in the game

before this game all I knew was that I could see invisible players at the bottom bar

I learned that you can't put moderators on ignore during this game, which by itself is grounds for not playing on a moderator account

I will create an alternate account fore the sole purpose of TWG tomorrow and I will ask the FFR staff if the exploit that Charu found can be removed from FFR as honestly its just straight up creepy in addition to the fact that it pretty much places an undue burden on the players of a TWG game
