Alphys was being monsterread by a lot of people, and Sans was the second biggest wagon yesterday. If Alphys is a disgusting human and this is a fake check, it's just an absurd play to make a 1 for 1 trade when she was already in such a favorable position in the first place.

Additionally, no one else has claimed Cop. Now, this isn't conclusive, because the nature of the format doesn't tell us which, or how many, of each role there is. But with the Godfather flip, I think it's safe to assume there is at least one Cop - or else the Godfather's presence in the game is meaningless. So the fact that nobody else has spoken up adds credibility to Alphys's claim.

Another possibility that hasn't come up yet, but one I find myself considering: Both of them are lying. That is, BOTH Sans and Alphys are reds, and this is an elaborate ruse to bank karma on Alphys, who will be "medic saved" until the very end of the game.

The Doggo vs. Papyrus thing is stupid, and I wish both of them would fucking do something so we don't have to deal with those dead spots
