Re: joined a weight loss challenge at my gym
Down to 300.4 pounds since I started this on Friday. Feeling good and no signs of anything terrible and hunger doesn't seem to be an issue though I did have a killer headache the day after I started my diet.

I had the headache too when I first started -- went away after a few days.
Have you begun doing any cardio at all? Figure out a better way to handle kale?Last edited by Reincarnate; 03-11-2015, 07:38 PM.Comment

Re: joined a weight loss challenge at my gym
yeah i've been doing two half hour sets in the the day since doing one continuous hour would probably make me pass out rofl.
kale im just putting it in a smoothie along with carrots, radishes, broccoli and water. it doesnt taste good but i can just chug it and get it over with

Re: joined a weight loss challenge at my gym
For chicken, a little bit of low-sodium soy sauce/garlic marinade can go a long way while hardly adding any calories (soy sauce is like 8 calories per tablespoon lol)
For kale, try kale chips. They are actually really good, this coming from a guy who typically doesn't like kale prepared other ways. Sadly this does involve at least teaspoon or so of oil per bunch of kale for the baking, so don't forget to add that in (might make it not worth it, idk probably like 50 calories+ or so of oil)
For canned tuna, obviously adding it to small salads, but the variety of stuff you can successfully pair it with can be pretty surprising. Tuna and green beans, for example.
All I'm saying is, I know you have your sights set on the Maui victory lap but I encourage you to do small food prep things along the way that might help you hate the next few months slightly less. Experiment to find out what preparations are not quite as much of a chore to eat, while still keeping the calorie count low.
And good luck!Last edited by hi19hi19; 03-11-2015, 08:30 PM.Comment

yeah for my chicken im caramelizing onions and cooking the chicken on top with steak season which has 0 calories. the chicken tastes fucking amazing. i switch between that and this chipotle sauce i have which is 2 calories per tablespoon. chicken is going to be the easiest thing to eat. tuna is what im really dreading. i've tried several things and no matter what its just chewing fish cardboard

Re: joined a weight loss challenge at my gym
yeah gains in cutting is like golf logic. losses are gains, basically. lol.
if you're in SF it means you'll probably be walking around a lot which adds a passive 100-150 calories burned per hour.
you can probably go an extra 400-700 cals per day if you're doing a lot of walking and still make some fat loss gains. I managed to do that for SXSW in AustinComment

Re: joined a weight loss challenge at my gym
walked 20 miles in three days and walked up and down several steep as fuck hills including lombard st which kicked my ass. my calves are sore as shit. i weighed myself this morning and i ended up not gaining anything which i feel like a win. tons of fun was had though definitely going to be going back

I was told that right now I'm dominating the leaderboard by a decent margin. Right now I weight 294.0 which means I broke 20 pounds since the 6th. Hello Maui here I come
