Head over to the FFR Batch Forum for all the details on how you can get your file into the game. The Artist Permissions forum section will help you find out if FFR has permission to use the song your file goes with.
Re: Keyboardsmash Phase I: Legacy Submissions Open
I'll get to the older files later today or tomorrow. Super promise!
EDIT: Whoops, forgot to unpack yours, WC. Derp. I'll get to it with the rest I need to catch up. Promise <3
Alicemagic ~TV Animation Ver.~ - Accepted This is a nice simple file, which is quite easy and calm to play. Can't say there's too much wrong with it aside from the long holds that felt a little awkward to play, but still works. The video is a nice touch. I originally had this as Pending because I thought too little of it, but after playing it a couple times, it's nice to have an easier file to play for a change, and there's barely any issues with it.
Altale - Pending I really want to like this one as well, but there's some problems in the file The beginning with the hands/mines are so difficult for me to read and enjoy. Even without them, I want to say they should be jumps instead, but the hands go with the rest of the song's hands throughout, so I'm not quite decided on what to do there. The quite snare rolls with the other instrument rolls feel strange. After watching the part a few times, the snare/24th ministreams need to be cleaned up, since some go to nothing, while some snares are missing arrows. Slow down the song and try to spot where they should go. After looking into it, some are also 32nds. Make sure those parts are consistant and fixed up. The multiple jumps in the stream (jacks) are really really difficult to play. I don't know if that works out well since I can't play that fast, but I think it's a little overstepped. Outside of those issues, I really do like this file and I want to see a v2. Also, love the video. :3
Electroman Adventures - Rejected Looks unfinished and unpolished. It's also not fully stepped at the end, unless you sent in the wrong file. The first part feels largely understepped, or just doesn't feel right. The two choruses with the jumps/hands are the only parts that feel sort of okay. The second chunk of 16ths don't go to anything that I could hear, and the actual "triple" aren't stepped. The song itself doesn't have too much potential, but I know that it could be stepped better. Knowing that it's your first simfile you've submitted, you should still keep at it. Try slowing down the song, or checking out other files to see how they play and feel to the music. Then you can apply what you know into the song to make it fun to play. I know my first files were definitely worse than this.
Fallin Love - Accepted This definitely feels like your last file I've played. Don't ask how. I blame the influence of your CD Title. Anywho, a song like this could definitely prove to be weird to step, but it, somehow, works. The rolls throughout the song feel good to play. The holds could prove to be an issue, but they somehow, still do make the song more cosmetically pleasing. The difficulty spikes in this song, though, are so crazy. I'm almost glad you didn't step the faint snarerolls during some parts, because while it would be sort of correct, that would be a lot of arrows, and wouldn't make the high hat rolls stand out. So it works. I want to be on the fence, but this song likes me. A cut could be possible. Also, that ending. Talk about difficulty SPIKES.
Hanairo Biyori - Accepted with fixes I WANT AN EASIER DIFFICULTY TO SOME OF YOUR FILES PLES. Jumpstreams jumpsrteamsumpejmpsreamts. On a serious note, almost 3/4s through, there's missing 16ths (I think) to the music in the back. It stands out because every sound in this song is stepped besides those. It'll be okay once that's fixed.
Kissing the Shadows - Accepted Damn those vocals need to go. Only complaints would be the holds which are just always a pain, aren't they? They work with the song, but not with my brain. The guitar part that isn't stepped was a good idea on your part b̶u̶t̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶'̶r̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶t̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ ̶l̶a̶z̶y̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶d̶i̶d̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶w̶a̶n̶t̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶s̶t̶e̶p̶ ̶i̶t̶. Another great guitar file that works amazingly well. Definitely one I could play a bunch of times more.
Lamda Driver - Pending I'm not too sure about the jacks in the beginning of the song. The rolls are very difficult to play, and it makes the song pretty neat. Sadly, the second half of the song just feels repetitive. If you could find a way to cut it down shorter, I'd be okay with accepting it. Your files are always interesting in how you step them. Could just be the songs you've picked, but they stand out as yours. Neat.
Neurotoxin - Accepted with fixes This is definitely my favorite file from you. It feels really nice to play, and it's not as extremely difficult as your other files have been. I do have to disagree with the jump-jacks put in, since it doesn't feel too right compared to the rest of the song, but that's my only complaint. The sweet video is just a bonus. Nice going.
Unknown Soldier - Accepted Do you ever make bad files or no.

Yesh, please update it.
Judges, please. I feel so alone here. I think I'm caught up in what needs to be looked at. Hopefully!
Cedar Shed - Pending This song has hella potential, and I definitely want this cleaned up. The holds to the song I can understand for an easier difficulty, but they need to be consistent. Sometimes I hear the mini rolls don't go to the rolls a couple times. And the jumps need to also be consistent, because they just seem to go to anything. Sometimes they go to the bass kick, and sometimes they don't. It doesn't make sense. And make another difficulty where the rolls are rolls instead of holds. I think it would be much more fun that way. I'd be rejecting this, but I really want to see it fixed, since it sounds really fun to play.
Dream Express - Accepted At first, I wanted to put this in Pending because it wasn't all that interesting, but it really throws me back to the earlier years of stepmania. Played it a couple times more and I wouldn't mind having some nostalgic-like stepping thrown in this pack. Wouldn't hurt.
Hakugin no Datenshi - Accepted with possible fixes Didn't know what the trills went to in the beginning, but realized they were kicks I think. The layering feels weird to me, but that's just my opinion. Still a fun file to play regardless. This song may need the drums stepped throughout to make it more interesting to play, since it feels strange to play it some parts, but not others. This may exclude the solos The snares will always stand out for me. Perhaps a harder difficulty where it's stepped throughout?
Into the Battlefield - Pending about 1/4s in (the preview music) you step 16ths, but not the rest of them. I don't understand the 2nd and 4th ones because they don't go to anything. Put more arrows where they need to be during that. The hand jump streams I'm on the fence about. The 12ths part, there's quiet snares that could possibly be stepped outside of the jacks. Overall, it's almost there, but not quite.
Space Travel - I know this is already accepted, but will the final one have the intro/outro better than it is? It's a good file, but it needs cleaning up.
THE CEILING COULD NEVER HOLD US - Pending This song. Why. The stepping is okay. Repetitious and could be cut in parts. The ending jump/hand stream could possibly be more comfortable, but it could just be me and how much I suck. But this song. Eh.
真説「牡丹」八重乃赤紫 (Truthful Legend) - Accepted with fixes I realized Accepted with fixes and pending are almost similar to me. Whoop. Anywho, Can't say it's horribly stepped, but I'd love to see more arrows during the one piano part. Feels too empty for me without the rest of it being stepped. Out side of that, I'd be okay with accepting it.
Proof of the Existance v2 - Accepted Not a bad file. Just unsure about the ending jumpstreams. The drums/quiet piano sounds could also be stepped during the breaks. Rest of the song plays out just fine. Pretty fun to play, too. Don't have much else to say besides those things.
Spinal Fluid Explosion Girl - Rejected Sorry, I just don't like this cut. The stepping is alright, but the song is my main issue. After hearing it a thousand times normally, it doesn't sound right at all to me. Put it back in order.
Hui, Pizda, Govno! - :v Pls play it. It's too hard for me.

Altale - Since I really love placing mines, It'll be a bit hard for me to remove all of them from the file. However, I'll remove about half of them and try to lower the difficulty as much as possible. As for the snare rolls, it was one of those portions where I strongly felt I hit the limit as a simfile artist. I will attempt to fix those sections but I cannot guarantee any improvements.
Hanairo Biyori - I could not find where the missing 16ths were, so I'd appreciate it if you can specifically point out it where it is.
Lamda Driver - To be honest, I've been feeling that the later half is more sluggish than the first half. But, I wasn't sure how to effectively shorten the length of the simfile so I decided to give up trying to fix it. T-T
Neurotoxin - I've personally liked the jump-jack parts while making thi simfile, but I feel this part is too dependent on people's preferences. I have not decided whether to fix that part -- it will be clearer after looking at other people's reviews.
Finally, I've made quite a bit of easier simfiles but ended up sending only the difficult ones. The easier ones tended to be anime op or ed so I couldn't send them. I'm sorry.

What do you mean by hit the limit? It is a difficult song to step correctly, as it's one of those cases where "should I step this or not?" comes into play due to the volume of some of the sounds. I always run into that problem in some of the songs I've stepped. Another version could be made to compare to see which one outperforms the other. After playing it again, I remember what was wrong. I think you definitely should be able to fix the issues. It's just a difference in measures. Slow down the song to a much slower speed and have note claps on. You'll be able to spot it very quickly, along with the snares that aren't stepped.

It's during the parts where the holds are, about 3/4ths of the way through the song, starting at measure 101. The high hats have no notes going to them. If this is intentional, then my suggestion is to throw them in. It would just make sense to me. c:

It's just the two parts going on for twice as long. It shouldn't prove to be too much of an issue if the rest of the judges are okay with it. Besides that, I think it's okay. The jacks near the beginning are okay, but only when the notes sound similar. The triple jacks could possibly change to trills. If you get others to accept it, I'd be okay with having it in the pack.

I'm a fan of jacks, but since it really stands out as the only part of the song that has them, it feels off-putting. When I played it, my tapping was louder than the song, so I just assumed I've heard other similar sounding parts that were without jacks. As is, it's a perfectly fine file. So on second thought, don't worry about fixing it. I would suggest to put 1 2 jumps at the end trill with the mines on 4 that go with the bass. It's right before the break. Still definitely a favorite.

No need to be sorry. I should be sorry for not being able to play them like the rest of the cool kids. Feel free to send in more, easy or difficult!

Yeah I'm a lazy shit. At measure 14, the timing is incorrect. Should be 24ths. 373 is when the solo starts for possible snare layering. 553 is without any drum layering. I hope these measures are correct, because SM5 editor will never line up correctly, and DDream gets all shitty and literally makes the entire song yellow notes in the editor. I think there was another part that wasn't part of the solo, but I guess there isn't.
