about five years ago I would have agreed with you, but after getting to know more people in my life personally, too many people use "I'm not that serious" as an excuse to be mediocre or hold inconsistent/contradicting viewpoints

because after all, if you're "serious" then you're trying, and if you've never tried then you can't say you're bad at something or that you're really wrong because you haven't thought about it.

i get along with most people but i dont like when people respond with 'k' or other really half-assed responses especially if im really enthusiastic about something i usually distance myself from them because its not worth the effort
