i need to know who stepped insane techniques before i review it. the submission email doesn't make it clear.

i also need to confer with nathan about turn back the time since i may be slightly biased about some things

no and if i did i'd probably punch it out of reflex. that probably wouldn't end well for me either way.
- 27.55s: missing 32nd (possibly intentional if you are stepping just vocals?)
- 101.84s: i don't think this should be a jump. also in this section, i would suggest trying to pr the jumps to that bell instrument.
- 149.28s: missing 32nd
- 197.14s: can't figure out what this 32nd is going to
- 287.01s: misrhythm
- 334.93s to 335.22s: should be 32nds

UNKNOWN (Skylaax) - ACCEPTED
- layering definitely wasn't what i was expecting for ssh but once i figured it out it was really cool and different
- 20.81s: not sure what these holds are going to. are these for the background synth?
- 48.43s: imo these trills should change to different kinds of trills as the synth changes pitch
- 66.88s: should be a jump because of your layering scheme
- 150.58s: should just be 32nd
- 152.9s: i agree with this being a flam but i don't think it's 3 notes
- 209.32s: really iff about these types of mines. if you want to leave them that's fine but i'm not a fan of them personally.
- 219.27s: i'd step the 16th here

No, you're right. Missed that. Would be difficult to fit in there though.

Probably, it's the only of the softer snare hits that I somehow still made a jump. You could remove the up arrow from that jump.
Jumps to the xylophone would make it a very big spike; the section already is quite a spike.

True. Could be any grace note. Luxury issue.

- 197.14s: can't figure out what this 32nd is going to

Slide, not an actual note. Can agree that it would also work without.

- 287.01s: misrhythm

Didn't want to rainbow. If anything it's a missing 32nd at 287.248s. Could add an up arrow there if you like.

- 334.93s to 335.22s: should be 32nds

Disagreed, made them 24ths for a reason :P
They have a bit of a swing to them, 24ths depict that rhythm more accurately, the last 32nds are to the guitar.

Gotta say though, that's mighty thorough and patient of you.

the 24ths there definitely sound like a short 32nd snare roll to me. it's fine for continuity to leave it as 24ths i guess.

i might submit a few i have lying around, but i have no idea if they were released in any packs in the past. if someone can shoot me a PM (will probably forget to check here), it would be great.

all i know is about what I have in the very original first FFR CP and ossuary in ffr cp4 (how did it end up in that pack lol?), not sure if i have any other files in another pack.

also - how stringent is judging? is file quality lower/better/the same as those in like ODI2/dark chancellor's? some of the files in ffr cp4 which is the only pack released in recent memory that i've played really suck

you can use this tool to search for what packs simfiles are in: http://indeedengine.com/packs/search.php

the judging is stricter than ffrcp4, you should check out ODI3 if you haven't yet, it's more recent than ffrcp4

thanks a bunch, turns out there is another one of mine that has been released already. i see brand x has been stepped by someone other than midare- does anyone know if it's a decent file? i have my own lying around

its reallly hard to explain my layering choices towards the end of the file btw so I'm expecting some confusion here. basically I just put stuff down that felt right in terms of the flow of the song and didn't precisely layer according to noises if that makes sense. I would understand if this warrants a reject

if you have want to submit your file for it it's going to have to be pretty memorable and somewhat different from the other one

i don't want to say NO to all resteps, because there are some (especially older) files that could be stepped again and made more enjoyable, but there will be higher standards

thanks. i'll take another look at my version, but i probably won't send it since it has a dumpy factor to it.

aside from that, what are version of SM are people using to step nowadays? i always used 3.9 before, but is there something much better now?

a lot of people (myself included) don't even touch SM at all for stepping anymore. ddream is a lot more efficient and accurate for the most part.
