bumps occur when somebody improves massively during a tournament (that brings out their true skill)
and they shouldnt occur if person in question is obviously not up to par in proposed division members

yoshl has been around for a while and it looks like he's teetering d5 for a while

ex) i got put into d3 during 5th tourney (back when there were only 5 divisions) because i couldn't AAA anything (consistency is key here) and struggled to stay alive (3g 1g etc) but then i skillboosted quite a bit to the point where i could match d5's scores so i got bumped (rightfully so.. i think) lol

For the record, what would be a good comparison tournament if the 7th isn't one?

That pretty much ends any comparisons I could ever make I've been on here since 2007 and didn't sign up for any tournaments until 2011.

6th or 8th would be good ones... 4th would be good as well, but it's less relevant as a five division tournament.

Long story short, you don't just simply move someone because they're improving steadily. A sudden divisional move requires a very large skillboost over a really short period that suggests an incorrect placement -- for example, Deidara was placed D1, but suddenly was able to SDG into the 50 area as the tournament started.

YoshL has historically always started low and wound up being a favorite.

Not complaining about his placement even though he is a clear favorite for D5, I just find it funny. Guy has skillboosts in all the right places at all the right times, I guess.

holy shit i was about to give up tonight after not playing for 2 days because i was not feeling the song and i just had the most miraculous play
got literally 1 great and only one great starting at the dense 16th jumpstream all the fucking way until the nasty polyrhythm and i 1ged that but i got 5 misses on the jacks
have hope once again

Also YOSHL's accuracy on /mu/tant corecore is better than most of D7's AAAs (including mine)

He is literally a D6 player that will crush the everloving shit of D5 if he stays, just a heads up. I don't think people understand how good he actually is, everyone's just been focusing on how he had an AIM Anthem AAA back in the day but he's improved much more since

They are very good at bumping the divisions for people when they overlook something. I remember the last tournament they bumped me during the first round to make it fair. Bumping this late would be kind of upsetting

I'm sorry, but that is more or less one of the worst jumpstream patterns to hit at a reasonably high speed.
