Re: 9th Official Tournament: Round 3 Discussion

The 24th trill with jumps is technically correct though, way moreso than the copypasta 24th stream. And yeah, hi19, I noticed it too. Sounds like the fixes are a mixed bag, but overall I'm way happier seeing the intended file in-game than one that didn't feel right. Thanks again for uploading them, AJ. Glad I stayed up late last night to make sure they happened early in the round instead of, you know, after. It's still 7 solid days of play on the correct steps!

EDIT: AJ if I stepped those parts half as aidsy as that, everyone would want my head (they still do but yeah). Nobody would ever wanna play your ending on FFR even with raw scoring, lmao. That makes the 32nd rolls look tame.

I'd rather have Aj's 32nd sections over the current 32nd sections, just straight rolls is boring. That being said I liked the first version posted better than the updated, the 24th stream/js into the trills were a lot better to play than derp ass rolls.

The above post has a 50% chance of being useless. Potentially. Maybe.

I'm kinda sad mostly because the file lost its identity, at least to me. Before the main difficulty actually came from the split patterns and trills. Was a little more unique that way.
Now it feels to me like "just another 32nd roll file"

Only played D4-D7, so giving reviews to that

Over The Bridge: File was accurate and all... just felt very draggy though. The climax at the end made up for it. File's alright.
Requiem -Dies Irae-: This at first, looked really rigid and awkward. When I played it, it felt... really really smooth actually. My only issue is that 12th polyrhythm in the 16th dense JS section, might be a bit too excessive. Great file though.
The Steel Monster Above The City: The bursts felt a little rigid personally, maybe it's just me though. Some parts in the fix made the file a lot better, but that roll part... lmfao. Not a bad file though, just not my cup of tea overall.
Wraith: This file reminds me of a faster Crow's Ghost, which is a good thing because Crow's Ghost is one of my favourite files in the engine. Wraith's layering is so aggressive and the file captures every moment of the song quite well. Patterns flow very well (better on SM for sure, on FFR it's a little more rigid) personally, very replayable (especially on rates) and just all in all a very challenging hard file. I'll definitely play this a lot more. By far my favourite file in the tourney so far.

I hate those roll parts like the ones in For FFR, Silly Symphony, Kono spoon and Mathsma Attack.

Especially since it's a tournament file, AJ probably wouldn't have chosen the song had he seen the fixes earlier.

I actually sent the fixes back in August, AJ has said it was a matter of him making a mistake and not finding them until I made a note of the version in-game being incorrect.

It likely wouldn't have shown up in D6 if I was aware of those fixes.

Just for archival/proof purposes, VisD has let me know about Time (Soular Remix) being the incorrect version as well. I will address this tomorrow.
