Re: Teenager jailed for sarcasm, faces up to 10 years in prison
I have been to county jail more times than I would like to admit and it is a cake walk. County jail guards are overglorified babysitters when compared to prison guards and what they have to deal with by comparison they are literally two different worlds.Prison legitimately terrifies the shit out of me. It is near impossible to get raped or viciously beaten let alone killed in a county jail it just doesn't really happen in American institutions at least.Comment

I'm pretty sure it's highly dependent on each jail. I recall a documentary on a Miami jail where people recall shanks being used to poke holes in people so they can stick their fingers in and rip chunks of flesh out.I have been to county jail more times than I would like to admit and it is a cake walk. and if you're put in the wrong cell, you can be guaranteed a beatdown.
unless it isn't a county jail
but it is a jail of some sort, not a prison

Re: Teenager jailed for sarcasm, faces up to 10 years in prison
It is possible to make shanks in certain county jails though certainly not easy whatsoever and you still have to realize these are all people who are in jail before having been tried for their crime who don't want to get into anymore trouble. I was once detained at a federal holding area called the los villas east detention center 10 minutes from the border in a single man cell with nothing but hispanics on the other side awaiting deportation or there for selling multiple pounds of crack or murder(basically very severe crimes). I knew however I was safe because of how jails are organized by classification of inmate meaning I would never have to cross paths with them. From there I was transferred to hidalgo county where I spent the remainder of my time in a 24 man double bunk population cell and was the only white person there. Even still I was unafraid because no one at that the level of classification would risk worsening their situation. Shanks could be made in that jail technically, but the likelihood that someone would worsen their situation by risking beating someone down or anything of the like before seeing the judge for their original crime at the lowest level of classification is almost non existent. People always try to act hard in jail and the perception from t.v. shows proves it if you've experienced it at least. For a high profile case like this its likely they have him in an isolation cell anyway which is way worse.I'm pretty sure it's highly dependent on each jail. My rap sheet is fairly tame but theres possession of marijuana, driving while intoxicated, burglary of a motor vehicle ( I have never broken into a car in my life, long story and first charge), failure to identify a fugitive, a few probation revocations, and a failure to appear in court resulting in a warrant.Comment

The most bullshit charge ever. I look identical to my friend Scott, so one day after leaving the bar for my friends 22nd our designated driver got pulled over and the cop asked for our I.d.'s which I know now to never fall prey to because a cop isn't supposed to do that if you're not driving and there are certain things you can say to prevent him from inquiring further without their being some sort of probable cause. Anyway, the issue was that I already had multiple warrants for some of the charges mentioned and did not want to reveal myself so I told him I was my friend Scott, gave him all the info he needed besides the social security number lol. He caught me in my lie and hurled me off.Comment
