Alright well, I finished up everything today, and I just finished watching episode 36 (kekeke vash I beat you :P). Now I'm starting to sort of understand what you meant by there's less action going on, and things are just dragging a bit. But it's odd because I never would've noticed that if I ddin't come across this thread. I guess the average person would expect more action from this type of anime, but I dont' see much wrong with having all the flashbacks and explanations. It adds quite a bit to the story... I'm sorry but the last thing I want is a DBZ-style anime with constant fighting.

Actually, I have nothing against the lack of action. It's the fact that it takes 4-5 episodes to solve a problem that can be done in one episode. And the 5 minute recap of the previous episode gets really annoying. I DONT NEED TO SEE THE SAME THING OVER AGAIN. I think the show would have faired a lot better if it were extended to an hour an episode. In less than thirty minutes, NOTHING HAPPENS. Seriously, the pacing is terrible.

The earlier stand-alone episodes were so much better because when there was a problem, it was solved in less than two episodes.

I think it is the fact that the story has been split into 5 different parts is what is causing the pacing problem. So episodes now have 5 different scenes going on a once which is why it takes so long for fight scene/whatever to be concluded.

P.S. Episode 36 was one of the better episodes I've seen in this series.

Exactly. With that whole flashback you would've thought that Sado would suddenly become some huge macho man and beat the shit outta the captain, but nope

Anyhow, Vash has already heard me complain about what a waste of time this episode was. Honestly skip to the next episode where they show Ichigo fighting, and Sado finishing off 8th captain, and you wouldn't have noticed that you didn't watch ep 37.
