did you seriously not accept bmah's Release the Music?

I am really sad to see that. That file was amazing on x-mod and was actually somewhat challenging to score on both ways. *sigh*

mostly because of the negative bpm tricks not even being c-mod compatible . how could it be fun to score on on c-mod if you get 14 misses and a B when AAAing it? other than that it's a cool, fun MA file and i would probably accept it after some minor revision if it was c-mod compatible

This same logic can be applied to rolls. KB files with rolls are starting to become popular and unless you are using SM5, they will crash SM.

that's not true though lol

rolls work on every form of stepmania except 3.9, and on 3.9 they just show up as arrows you can't hit

i'm very much anti-roll but like it's a significantly less problematic thing to use

If you want to be technical, the redux version of 3.9+ has rolls enabled. But as its own build, 3.9+ or 3.9+ Redux does not count as its own build, but more like a rebuild of 3.9~

Well, the grading system is a bug of SM and not the fault of the stepartist. Negative BPMs aren't intended to be c-mod compatible, because they influence warp effects, which is an exploit of the older engines. If bmah were to change it for SM5 capability, he would lose every other SM build's capability to play it. Similarly, if he makes the chart c-mod compatible, the chart becomes unmemorable. You're denying a file that's really innovative, and one that I guarantee people won't try to attempt to create playable for older StepMania engines again.

I am aware of this being your pack, and I'm not trying to step on your feet or anything, but if ODI is going to be a big-name pack (I mean, you literally sounded the SM sirens for all of the old stepartist), this really should be in it.

Alright, I've said what I needed to. I just really wouldn't want to see a file like this be left out of a premium pack like ODI3.

this is not about different stepmania engines, it works the same way on sm3.9, sm3.95 and sm5 (yes i tried all 3), both on c-mod and x-mod.

the reason for the reject is still that the file has gimmicks in it that makes it unplayable on settings that 9+/10 advanced players play every single file on.

i disagree about the chart not becoming memorable without the negative bpm tricks, it has some pretty cool parts like the the long stream in the end. it's just that the file has zero replay value because you automatically get 14 misses and B on it and have to helplessly watch a wall of arrows just fly by, whether this is technically a fault of the sm engine or the simfile author doesn't matter in the end, because this is the game that we play lol

I use 3.95 because my computer has issues with anything higher.
