RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: List here your five favorite bands and s

Meh... my top bands and top songs list are different. Because there are some one-hit wonders that rock, while for a band... they have to have LOTS of great songs.

For those who have listened to my radio shows so far, you know my #1 band of all time is Metallica.

      1. Metallica
      2. Rammstein
      3. Prodigy
      4. Rob/White Zombie
      5. Probably a tie between AC/DC and Guns n' Roses, although GnR has a higher ratio of amazing songs to total songs than AC/DC does.

      Songs:
      1. Enter Sandman, Metallica, Metallica
      2. Breathe, Prodigy, Fat of the Land
      3. Confusion Remix, New Order, Blade Soundtrack
      4. Paradise City, Guns n' Roses, Appetite for Destruction
      5. Tie between For Whom the Bell Tolls, Metallica, Ride the Lightning or Firestarter, Prodigy, Fat of the Land

And... its so tough, because the top 4 of each are far and above, but like 5/6 and then 7-15 are SO close to each other for bands, and 5-30 are SO close to each other for song. Maybe more.
      RIP

Oy, all I'm seeing is this rock crap (no offense). This is my list and it's pretty eclectic:

        1. Send Me Shivers - Mouse On Mars
        2. March Caprice For Piano and Orchestra- KH
        3. Spirits In The Material World- Pato Banton and Sting
        4. Nara- E.S. Posthumus
        5. Cuzco- E.S. Posthumus

Jewpin, Omega, and all other New Age music lovers. Please downloads every song you can by E.S. Posthumus. The man's music sounds so beautiful and serene with a dash of rock or bass makes this a choice for any quiet moment and/or flash animation musical score. Seriously, get his music now.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: List here your five favorite bands and s

          My 5 favorite artists:

          1. Underworld
          2. Moby (pre-1999, Play and everything before it. Hotel's good but not great.)
          3. Kraftwerk
          4. Sigur Ros
          5. DJ Taka
          6. Orbital (had to do 6 cause I couldn't bump one of those)

          Songs?

          1. Underworld - Two Months Off. The spoken word sections are great, and this song has the best cowbell solo I've ever heard.
          2. Moby - Porcelain. Corny lyrics delivered convincingly, with enough emotion and soul that it succeeds. Ambient breakbeats are usually good, but this is the best ambient breaks song ever.
          3. Kraftwerk - Computer World. It's unashamedly electronic goodness.
          4. Sigur Ros - Staralfur. Without a doubt, the most hauntingly beautiful song recorded in the 20th century. Plus it contains a musical palindrome. Tearfully wonderful.
          5. DJ Taka - Colors (original edit.) Bemani's best song ever, even 4 years after it came out. DJ Taka is a master of integrating the piano into electronic music without either the piano or the synths feeling out of place.
          6. Orbital - The Girl With The Sun In Her Head. 11 minutes long and still feels like the same piece without being repetitive. It's strung together by a common melody that really does a good job of messing with stereo effects.

Much better than obscure artists. I would counter your "crap" comment a little more but 1) you said no offense, and 2) you're black, so it's understandable.

Nothing in this world could ever compete with that last song. It's just so... it's way too awesome.

By far the best orchestral song in the world.
OMG. I thought I was the only one who loved the KH Orchestral ending theme. I listen to this song nonstop when I have the chance to.
I've been looking ALL OVER for this song. I love it. Do one of you have it, or does anyone else have it so they can send it to me? I no longer use a dl program. Many thanks =)

As for my top5, that's pretty hard.. let's go. In no perticular order:

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop (always a fav.)
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Parallel Universe (song's so freakin awesome)
                      Rammstein - Morgenstern
                      Rhapsody - Dawn of Victory
System of a Down - B.Y.O.B. (Normally I hate really popular song, but this one is just so good)
Truth lies in loneliness, When hope is long gone by -Blind Guardian, The Soulforged

Getting racial now are we? For your information, I listen to rock as well, just not this metal/deathcore junk everyone keeps posting. I listen to Aerosmith ans some Metallica but I'm not a diehard fan of them. Now, I am a diehard fan of The Pillows, the greatest Japanese rock band ever. L'arc En~Ciel fans are going to hate me now. And last time I heard Mouse On Mars and Sting were obscure artists?

Oh if anyone wants the March Caprice for Piano and Orcehstra, just PM me.

ckj... I must be getting damn old if Green Day and Blink182 are OLDER bands. Green Day had their first album in 1992, and Blink was more like 1998 or 1999. I listen to ALOT of bands from the late 1960s and 1970s. Plus plenty more from the 80s and early 90s. Surprising few of the stuff I listen to regularly is from the past 5 years.
