It's not the same (at all) as someone being in debt to, say, a credit card company.

If you want to actually net things out with respect to foreign holders, for every dollar of US debt that's owned by a foreign country, we own something like 89 cents of foreign debt.

Our debt is super cheap and the USD is the world reserve currency:

So if you're going to assess how much debt is good/bad, you need to do it with some context if you're going to defend your point.
my beef is that we're spending so much on things we don't need that this amount of debt is unnecessary. i dont know how that wasnt clear with what i said already.

iirc, the only qualifications to run for POTUS are to be a natural citizen and 35 years old. i think his record that he's had so far is good enough to run the country.

what i specifically said, that i was "hoping Romney can bridge his own success in the private sector to successful and rapid growth of the economy." i can't know for sure, i said i was hoping. now that Obama is re-elected, i'm not hoping that he'll continue doing a bad job because i'm bitter, i want the country to ultimately be successful[/quote]

i'm pinning the Dems for it, they had control of congress before Obama was inaugerated

having the best military in the world has solidified us as the "superpower". as the greatest country in the world i feel like our global presence is something that can't be cut.

you say "needless interferece" about the middle eastern conflicts but NOPE there's a whole bunch o shizz we went over seas other than the "omg Bush just wanted oil".

i thought i was pretty self explanatory here. i know how active members of my faith live their faith, and have go on to live honorable lives and raise successful families.

so it just so turns out that im the only social conservative that exists on the internet. but, i also said that my social views werent why i voted for Romney. short version of everything: im not a fan of gay marraige, but domestic partnerships. im almost completely pro-life except for cases of rape, incest, and danger to the mother, and the death penalty should stay.

Moving the goalposts -- you brought up the $16 trillion figure, and I explained to you why it's not technically a problem for us.

We do spend a lot, but a great deal of it has little to do with Obama (do you at least acknowledge that the juggernauts of our deficit come from the Bush Tax cuts, the two unfunded wars, and the unfunded Medicare prescription bill? Talking math, here).

So you're not really answering the question here, but okay. All you're saying is "I think he's fit because he's fit." I'm asking you why you think he's "good enough" in terms of his record and why that is applicable to the Presidency.

...you're seriously blaming the Dems just because they had a majority in Congress for one period pre-Obama? You think the financial crisis was created overnight or that it makes sense to allocate blame that way?

Seriously? What did Congress do/pass, then, during that period that you think caused or **significantly** exacerbated the problem? I'm not really asking this question seriously because your point here is silly, lmfao.

PS: Read this page and I want you to tell me why, even from this page alone, your point here makes zero sense.

...dude, this isn't a valid response. Explain *why* you think it's shitty.

Again, this isn't a valid response. You need to explain what you mean. Again, do you understand what risk pooling is and how Obamacare actually works? Do you understand the basics of insurance and probabilistic utility framing? Simply dismissing something that helps people as "Dems spending uncontrollably" is not a real answer -- it's an ideological cop-out. Try again, please.

So everything he says during a debate is true, eh?

Does the number "over 800" mean anything to you here?

You didn't address any of my questions. Did you see how much we're spending compared to everyone else? The amount we spend is pretty much the next 14 countries combined.

...and you support the Iraq war?

Come on, dude. You have to do better than this.

Again, if you're too lazy to talk numbers here, you don't actually have an argument. The numbers are crucial.

All I need to know here, really.

Curious, though -- are you pro-life for strictly religious reasons?

honestly one of the main reasons i think im civil in sharing my opinions is because i can get people on the internet extremely riled up over nothing lol. other reason is because even though i can be a dick to a lot of the ffr peeps here, i actually enjoy them and think they're cool ppl and they're worth sharing honest ideas with

            @ reincarnate

my dad was deployed in Basra, Iraq in 2009 and he didnt come back until a year later... lol got u

            plus

i wasnt actually looking to make a long arguement so im sorry im not gonna go ahead and address any more of your points tonight so i guess that means you just singlehandedly one-upped the sole conservative opinion on a website for a flash rhythm game woooohoooooo you just saved 50 users and guests from the evils of conservatism!!!!!!

Was on my phone for around two hours waiting for updates with my friends. So glad that Obama's back. He does have his flaws, but we'll see if these next four years show an improvement over the last four.
