Yes, it's a massive number, but do you realize that the debt isn't a big issue right now? A huge, huge portion of it is basically money we owe ourselves (do you know how, say, trust funds like social security work and where the interest payments go from/to?). It's not the same (at all) as someone being in debt to, say, a credit card company.

If you want to actually net things out with respect to foreign holders, for every dollar of US debt that's owned by a foreign country, we own something like 89 cents of foreign debt.

Our debt is super cheap and the USD is the world reserve currency:

So if you're going to assess how much debt is good/bad, you need to do it with some context if you're going to defend your point.

Why do you think someone who has his particular experience is qualified to run a country? Do you think running a business and a company are comparable? Do you think the goals are the same, and how those goals are achieved?

iirc, the only qualifications to run for POTUS are to be a natural citizen and 35 years old. i think his record that he's had so far is good enough to run the country.

Lastly, do you see how that upward trend in unemployment started before Obama even took office? What do you think finally allowed for the turnaround? Are you aware how spending is dictated, and how much of that spending was the result of pre-Obama legislature? If so, I find it hard to believe you'd be pinning Obama for this.

i thought i was pretty self explanatory here. i know how active members of my faith live their faith, and have go on to live honorable lives and raise successful families.

so it just so turns out that im the only social conservative that exists on the internet. but, i also said that my social views werent why i voted for Romney. short version of everything: im not a fan of gay marraige, but domestic partnerships. im almost completely pro-life except for cases of rape, incest, and danger to the mother, and the death penalty should stay.

Moving the goalposts -- you brought up the $16 trillion figure, and I explained to you why it's not technically a problem for us.

We do spend a lot, but a great deal of it has little to do with Obama (do you at least acknowledge that the juggernauts of our deficit come from the Bush Tax cuts, the two unfunded wars, and the unfunded Medicare prescription bill? Talking math, here).

Look on the bright side everyone, Barack Obama can still be impeached. Also, he can never be our president again after this term. Although I foresee him turning the country over to China or terrorist control. Hope everyone is happy that "gay marriage" and "women's rights" are for the time being tolerated.
