Maybe it's just me, but honestly, even at the Ivy League level, I felt like higher education is such an overpriced scam (that is perhaps too strong a word, but I do think in many ways it can be defended).
I agree, except with respect to professional schools, in which case they're not a scam, though still overpriced LOL. My tuition is like 35k (compared to 8k undergrad. I don't even want to know how much Dental costs @ Harvard).

And lol @ engineering kids. I've heard said stories. Though, I took quantum physics in undergrad and the average was like 30 or 40%. However, my 6X got scaled up to 100 on the final and I ended up with an A+ anyway, so bell curving = life saver.

I don't think I would have ever gotten into Dental school with a degree like that though. I got a 3.84 iirc in undergrad neuro and I still got rejected on my first application because my GPA was 'too low'.

normal job? dunno what this means. also a lot of people (in charge of hiring) put too much emphasis on education, they don't care enough about talent or hard work. add to that, if you apply online, as is the case quite often nowadays, automated systems will reject your resume if it doesn't see the required education on it. unless all of that is what you meant by "normal job". you mentioned art field so perhaps you'd like a job that requires auditions or a portfolio? or maybe you wanna be a hitman, i can understand that

you should take advantage of free clep/dsst, it's just a couple hours out of your day and the worst that happens is you fail at no penalty or cost to you, then retake in six months if you like. if you pass, free college credit. also you have the gi bill so you shouldn't end up in debt over school anyway, unless you were to choose a crazy expensive one :P

college is pretty much a scam, i'm only going because i'm lazy. it's easy and free. in fact, i get paid to go...
