Re: itt: name your weird stepmania habits
I can't play 1324 or any pattern constituted of four keys which hit a different keys on each part of this interval while each of these keys are separated from the next key taped by an empty panel correctly.
Which means as long as it isn't 1234 or any pattern directly deriving from this, I'll just uselessly tire my arm by taping it as it was a trill. 1313 and 1324 are equally tiring for my arms even though I could play the second pattern WAY easier. But my fingers just say "no."
I ALWAYS ghost tap the intro of npv's Buzzards. I don't make it so consistently on other files.
I have terrible bad habits on Vertex Beta, a lot of false anticipations that trouble me very much.
When there is a set of long freeze notes, I like briefly removing my hold and putting it back just after. Files ending in a 3+ set of long holds usually causes me that classical accident in which I stay away from the key for too long and then the game considers the hold is failed.
So I have to play the whole file again.
My setup is JKL; so sometimes I tend to furtively play index on some "simple parts" of old files I play. (Saikyou OX Keikaku has some nice streams, the same goes for Vertex Beta and some other modern (!) files, I'm so good at changing style I recently was able to still get a consistent timing while alternating my style. As a player I'm an ArTisT)
When I get on a long trill, or on a harsh (jump)stream, I sometime just stop my breath to not disturb my playing. Playing hard files make it hard for my respiration.
