        I'll clarify some in case you didn't follow what the op said anyway:

        Say you'll be gone through part of R3, and it's R2. You ask for an extension for R3, and you'll be given one, assuming Zak decides you need one. If it's R3, and you forget you have your wedding tomorrow, you're out of luck.

            but how does it work for eliminations though? is the elimination for that division delayed?

                You ask for an extension ahead of time, and you get it BEFORE the round. Rounds are not extended, not even for extensions.
