devonin, you need to pick harder songs to weed out who's truly D1 and D2 and D3 etc.. :P
Too many AAA's. You should get someone with extensive knowledge of FFR songs like dossar or opkiller to help you out with song picks. :P
I'm sure he's planned out the song choices to make the system work like it should. I'm sure his queue of song choices and the introduction of D1 and D5 next round should put people in the proper places. You act like everyone currently in D2 who has AAA'ed AAA also has the ability to AAA Monstrous Turtles; should that happen then yes, it would be hard to determine the difference in people's skill level. However, that is clearly not the case:
Ugh, this is one of my worst VC's, this is actually one of my lucky runs, I usually get 30+ goods and 5+ misses on this. >.< I have a feeling this is going to move me back down to D3 ugh.

D1's last round song has under 25 AAAs on it total.
I guess I could have just had 1 round of 'Everybody play Crowdpleaser' if that would satisfy you?
Edit: Slightly less snarky edit.
I deliberately started on a 9 because the 8/9 barrier is generally one that separates casual/semi-serious players from serious ones. I said early on that I expected 60-70% AAAs on the round. I got 55% AAAs.
I split out 'AAA' and 'Basically clean FC' and 'Everyone else' at the end of round 1. I pushed everyone who couldn't even really FC a 9 down to division 4. The difficulty in round 2 dropped but they're ending back on a 9 again. I kept everybody who could cleanly FC but not AAA a 9 in division 3 where the songs only get harder, and they're ending on a 10. I pushed everybody who AAA'd a 9 up to division 2. Sure the second song is a 10 only, but the AAAs on that will go to Division 1 for round 3/4, where they have an 11 with <150 AAAs and a 12 with <25 for their rounds.
Believe it or not, there was some thought in the song selection.
Rap music is music. However, It's not in the traditional sense of how we understand music. The vocals are filled with slangs that gangs used since the 70s and a lot of the instrumentations are replaced with "Street Sounds" instead of traditional instruments. Music is defined as any combination of sounds that is pleasing to the ear, so while one person may find it as "noise" another person can find it pleasing to the ear and so call "vibe" with it as how I think the kids would say it these days.
More other also: Yes, there are a bunch of people in this tourney with a -VERY- high level of skill. They are going to be AAA'ing everything except 12/13s and even some of those. Obviously I could have put Dossar etc in Division 1 right away, and chances are these guys are AAA'ing everything in the qualifier start to finish. Part of my response to that is "The system is in place to accurately sort everybody from scratch, and I guess it just sucks for your will to be challenged that you have a couple easy songs first" and part of it is "I should hope that anybody who straight AAA's this entire qualifier (especially since there are less than 25 AAAs on the last hardest song) should consider whether they even want to bother with the league at all. Competition is just as little fun when you always win as when you always lose.
