I've never been too cool with the beggars. I heard about a panhandler who supposedly made around 60 grand a year, and didn't have to pay taxes since he was unemployed. His wife thought he was an investment banker. And then there was the guy who offered to have sex with me in exchange for a taco or cigarettes. And the guy who threatened to piss off a bridge onto my crew. Or the guy who sits off a highway exit ramp in a wheelchair, but wheels himself around using his supposedly useless legs...
I mean, it's sad, but I can't see myself empathizing with people who beg for money when I see people lined up outside the Labor Ready office at 5:00 every morning. There is opportunity, and some people just can't find that initiative to take it, especially when it's so much easier to get handouts.Comment

i see homeless people all the time. I live in Chino and where I live walking down the street is like being in a homeless colony. man i feel bad for those guys.
