Well falcon, I refuse to bow down to the gods of secularism like you do, so I'm sorry if you can't respect our differences. Once again, spiritual thinking is not "thinking inside the box," and if someone believes that, it's a spectacular demonstration of how that person thinks. Remember, secularism has gods too, so if you want me to stop talking about mine, I guess you should stop talking about yours. But then, not much would be posted at all.

So there's no reason to abolish religion. Or proper punctuation or capitalization. (HINT, HINT)

Falconsfan, its a nice poem in all, but thing bout it, (note: i am atheist, and i have depression) It kinda made me think of suicide when i read it. THINK BOUT IT. now look at this section of it,
we get bored with the routine
and crave beauty
and excitement
fire is beautiful
and we know that if we get
too close it will kill us
but what does that matter
it is better to be happy
for a moment
and be burned up with beauty
than to live a long time
and be bored all the while
so we wad all our life up
into one little roll
and then we shoot the roll
that is what life is for
it is better to be a part of beauty
for one instant and then cease to
exist than to exist forever
and never be a part of beauty

And I kinda think of it this way, From what i know of life it sux pretty bad and isnt the moth talking of the beauty of suicide or somethin? That confuses me... lol

"Remember, secularism has gods too"--but atheism doesn't, which is where most non relgious people place themselves. Most of this topic made me laugh, and the poem was mediocre, but yeah, the moth does commit suicide, so in that way it talks about suicide...but remember, poems are meant to be interpreted (sic?), so for one it could mean to live life fully, and daringly, and to another it could mean that suicide is beautiful, or something like that...i'm not the one to say

I think the moth in that poem was viewing it's suicide as an unfortunate price to pay for witnessing or bieng part of true beauty, but one that it was willing to pay.

As for living life like it's your last day. If you take it literaly I think it's a little extreme, but maybe don't take life for granted is a better way to say it. You can't know exactly how long you have left so try and live with little regret. Enjoy it while it lasts and make the most out of it. You've all heard the saying "If live gives you lemons make lemonaid." I say if life hands me lemons I'll sell the them and buy something that I really want. You know, just do what you can with what you've been given and sample as many things as you can. Personally I think that life is some sort of test that were all being graded on, as if someone is evaluating us on our ability to succeed based on what kinds of obstacles we are able (or unable) to overcome. Either that or it's totally pointless and it just happened for no reason, if that's the case then just do whatever hell you feel like. I still can't figure out which.

Or if you take door number three I'm an idiot who's so full of shit it's flying out of my ears and I have no idea what I'm talking about.

8) Just live everyday in peace. True, living everday as your last would result in restlessness and chaos. Many people couldn't handle that. Just living in peace and not letting insignificant matters bog you down would be enough.
