D3 seems to have the most diversity when it comes to skill. The low end D3 like reuben would not have stood a chance if he was against you. Since your high end D3 and have some 9 AAAs under your belt you can easily beat him if you choose to. This is why I split them. On top of that, it gives both sides a better chance of winning. Don't think of it as a watered down version, but instead think of it as winning chance. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

personally i'd make d3b players top end d2 players and when they want to go into a complete d3 division make it so

I see no reason why you should rage about division splitting. If it happens in D5 too, I'm okay with it.
